The power cell for a hammer may comprise a head, a cylinder and a piston. The head may include a main bore, a satellite bore and a lower retainer. The main bore includes an upper chamber that includes a trough, first and second furrows, and a lock wall. The trough may include a port that extends from the main bore into the satellite bore. The lock wall may extend between the furrows. The lower retainer may be disposed in the satellite bore, and may include a core member and a jut. The core member may include a bore configured to receive a fastener. The cylinder may include a body and a protrusion on the body. The cylinder may be rotatable, wherein when in a locked position the protrusion is disposed in the port, the fastener is received in the bore, and the protrusion abuts the lock wall and the jut.

A hydraulic hammer includes: a cylinder having a first cylinder end and a second cylinder end opposite the first cylinder end; a piston disposed within the cylinder, the piston having a first piston end, the piston being reciprocatingly movable with respect to the cylinder along an axial direction; a valve body disposed on the first cylinder end so as to define a valve body cavity; and a seal carrier sealingly arranged between the first piston end and the first cylinder end and being reciprocatingly movable with respect to the cylinder along the axial direction. The piston is reciprocatingly movable with respect to the seal carrier along the axial direction.

A hydraulic hammer includes a housing and a plurality of splines. The housing defines a chamber extending along a longitudinal axis configured to receive a tool. The splines are disposed on an inner surface of the chamber and extend parallel to the longitudinal axis. Each of the splines has a contact surface configured to slidably guide the tool when disposed within the chamber. A treated layer is applied to the contact surface of each spline, the treated layer configured to withstand approximately between 100 MPa to 320 MPa of pressure applied during an operation of the hydraulic hammer without galling. An interface is defined between the contact surface of the splines and a surface of the tool and is configured to facilitate sliding engagement between the treated layer of the contact surface of the splines and the surface of the tool without lubricant during the operation of the hydraulic hammer.

The piston comprises a first portion having a first diameter, a second portion having a second diameter larger than the first diameter, the second portion having a plurality of grooves, and a third portion having a third diameter less than the second diameter.

Systems and methods can include stretching a stud of a hammer assembly by tightening, according to a preset amount, a plurality of fasteners, which can extend from a first end surface and/or a second end surface of a first nut threadedly coupled to the stud, against an upper surface of a body of the hammer assembly. The fasteners and the first nut can provide a clamping load for the stud upon completion of the tightening. The systems and methods can also include, after the stretching, tightening a second nut, which can be threadedly connected to the stud, toward a seat formed in the body of the hammer assembly; and further tightening the second nut, against the seat. The systems and methods can further include transferring the clamping load from the fasteners and first nut to the second nut.

Systems and methods for assembling a hammer tool

A tool for a hydraulic hammer of a work machine is disclosed herein. The tool comprises a spline section and a tool section. The spline section includes a first spline sector including at least six spline grooves and a second spline sector including at least six spline grooves. The first spline sector and second spline sector are separated by a spacer. The tool section diameter is 3.2-4.8 times larger than the spline groove diameter and the tool section diameter is smaller than a spline section diameter.

A hydraulic hammer for impact fracturing a work object includes a hammer shell having a cylinder body disposed between a front head and a rear head. A piston reciprocally movable within the cylinder body abut a work tool and can extend and retract the work tool from the hammer shell. To dampen momentum and impact forces, an accumulator head is attached to the back head and can accommodate hydraulic and dampening fluids in separate first and second sub-chambers. The dampening sub-chamber may directly fluidly communicate with an internal dampening fluid reservoir in the back head.

A dust cover for a hammer work tool, a hammer work tool, and a method of attaching the same are disclosed. The hammer work tool includes a housing, a power cell enclosed inside the housing, a tool member, and a detachable dust cover. When attached, the dust cover prevents particulate matter from entering the housing. When detached, a housing opening uncovered by the dust cover provides access to the power cell for maintenance and repairs. During installation, a housing rim and a locking tab of the hammer work tool are respectively received by a groove and a locking tab receiver of the dust cover. Advantageously, the dust cover is durable, cost effective, and easily attached and detached without the use of additional tools.

A dust suppression system for a demolition hammer is disclosed. The dust suppression system may have a water hose routed within a power cell of the demolition hammer, and a connector channel internal of the walls of a front head of the demolition hammer. The water hose may be utilized to deliver water from outside of the demolition hammer to a connection valve on a top end of the front head, and the internal connector channel may deliver water from the connection valve to one or more nozzles located at a bottom end of the front head.

An inner subassembly for assembling a valve assembly includes a spool defining a central bore that extends axially through the spool forming a spool annular wall, and including a spool cone tip that is disposed at the first axial end, as well as a hydraulic activation ridge extending radially outwardly from the spool annular wall, and that is disposed axially between the second axial end and the first axial end. The spool may further define a first bypass bore. A stem defines a first flow bore that aligns with the first bypass bore.

Systems and methods can include applying, using a nut assembly including a first nut and a plurality of fasteners provided in respective threaded holes of the first nut, a first tensioning force for a stud of a hammer assembly. The systems and methods can also include applying, using the nut assembly, a second tensioning force for the stud of the hammer assembly. The first tensioning force can be applied with the first nut in a first orientation whereby a first end surface of the first nut faces a first direction and a second end surface of the first nut faces a second direction opposite the first direction. The second tensioning force can be applied with the first nut in a second orientation whereby the first end surface of the first nut faces the second direction and the second end surface of the first nut faces the first direction. The second tensioning force can be greater than the first tensioning force.

Systems and methods for assembling or disassembling a hammer tool

A lubrication system for a hydraulic hammer includes a body defining a recess in fluid communication with a lubricant inlet and a lubricant outlet. A sleeve, located co-axially within the recess, defines a stepped tubular cavity having first and second portions. The sleeve also defines inlet and outlet ports extending from an outer surface to an inner surface of the sleeve. A piston, located partly within the recess and the first portion of the stepped tubular cavity respectively, has a tubular cavity co-axial with the stepped tubular cavity. A spool is located partly within the tubular cavity and the second portion of the stepped tubular cavity respectively. The spool co-operates with the inlet and outlet ports of the sleeve for reciprocally moving the piston in relation to the body so that lubricant from the lubricant inlet is delivered by the piston to the lubricant outlet via the recess.

A hydraulic hammer includes a housing defining a cutout and a power cell slidably received within the housing. The power cell includes a valve assembly extending from a side of the power cell. The valve assembly is at least partially received within the cutout of the housing. The hydraulic hammer further includes a pair of wear plates at least partially disposed around the valve assembly of the power cell. Each of the pair of wear plates is coupled to at least one of the power cell and the housing.
