A laundry appliance and damper assembly therefor are provided. The laundry appliance includes a cabinet defining an interior, a tub mounted within the interior of the cabinet, and a laundry basket rotatably mounted within the tub. The laundry basket defines a chamber for the receipt of laundry articles. A damper assembly couples the cabinet to the tub. The damper assembly includes a body forming an interior volume. A piston is coupled to a shaft extending through the interior volume. The piston extends to an inner surface of the body at the interior volume. A spring is positioned within the interior volume and is configured to generate a resistive force against the piston. The damper assembly includes a valve including a flexible wall forming a separable interface configured to allow air to flow into the interior volume as the spring extends.

A single-package air conditioner unit may include a housing, an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger, an indoor air conduit, and an internal shield. The indoor fan may be held within a fan cowl defining a cowl outlet. The indoor air conduit may be mounted to the fan cowl and extend upward from the cowl outlet to an indoor outlet defined through the housing to guide air from the indoor fan. The indoor air conduit and the fan cowl may separate at least a portion of the indoor portion from the outdoor portion. The internal shield may be disposed within the outdoor portion rearward from the indoor air conduit and the fan cowl. The internal shield may extend between an upper edge and a lower edge. The lower edge may be disposed between the downward bottom end and the cowl outlet relative to a vertical direction.

An air conditioning appliance includes a housing, a drain pan positioned below the housing, and a plenum which is attached to the housing and to the drain pan. The drain pan includes an upper surface in contact with the housing and a socket configured to receive a leg. The housing of the air conditioning appliance rests on the upper surface of the drain pan, such that the drain pan defines a platform which structurally supports the housing of the air conditioning appliance.

An air conditioning appliance or a make-up air (MUA) assembly may include an intake conduit and a secondary air duct. The intake conduit may be attachable to a housing of the air conditioning appliance. The intake conduit may define an intake passage upstream from the indoor inlet. The intake conduit may further define a secondary inlet upstream from the intake passage to permit air thereto. The secondary air duct may extend from the intake conduit outside of the housing upstream from the secondary inlet to direct air thereto.
