Vehicle ambient lighting may be provided utilizing a touchscreen, a lighting system, a memory, and a processor. The lighting system may include a direct lighting system and an indirect lighting system. The memory may store one or more instructions and the processor may execute one or more of the instructions stored on the memory to perform one or more acts or actions, such as rendering a vehicle ambient lighting interface via the touchscreen or implementing a currently selected vehicle ambient lighting mode via the lighting system. The vehicle ambient lighting interface may include two or more vehicle ambient lighting modes and the currently selected vehicle ambient lighting mode from the two or more vehicle ambient lighting modes.

A display system for a vehicle is provided. The display system includes a display device, and control circuitry that is coupled to a user input device and the display device. The control circuitry controls the display device to display a user interface (UI) having a UI element and changes a first opacity level of a first mode text for an outgoing mode of the vehicle, up to a first value so as to mask the first mode text within the UI element. The control circuitry further controls the display device to change a second opacity level of a second mode text for an incoming mode of the vehicle, up to a second value so as to unmask the second mode text within the UI element.

The gauge graphic includes a scale and a needle movable on the scale. The scale includes a first region and a second region. The display system detects a first movement of the needle beyond a first threshold marking on the scale and towards an end of the first region and controls the display device to gradually unmask a first gradation pattern in the second region based on the detected first movement. The display system further detects a second movement of the needle over the second region and controls the display device to change the unmasked first gradation pattern so that the unmasked first gradation pattern flashes with a defined frequency in the second region based on the detected second movement.

The vehicle includes a dedicated physical massage function button located on a dash or a console of the vehicle. The vehicle includes a display configured to present a menu of vehicle configuration options when the dedicated physical massage function button is held for a threshold amount of time. The vehicle includes a memory and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to receive, from a user, a selection of the configuration options for the vehicle seat presented on the display. The processor is configured to receive a signal indicating that the dedicated massage function button is pressed. The processor is configured to activate the plurality of actuatable massage elements according to the selection of configuration options in response to the signal indicating that the dedicated massage function button is pressed.

A method and system for providing absolute coordinate mapping using zone mapping input in a vehicle includes determining a touch input received on a touchpad located in the vehicle, presenting an absolute mapped position of the touch input on a display screen located in the vehicle, presenting one or more user interface objects on the display screen, and providing a plurality of display input zones corresponding to one or more user interface objects presented on the display screen. The method and system further include determining a user input to one of the one or more user interface objects presented on the display screen based on the absolute mapped position of the touch input on at least one of the one or more user interface objects presented on the display screen, and the plurality of display input zones on the display screen.

A system for preventing accidents includes an eye gaze detector for receiving an eye gaze vector from a driver. The system additionally comprises a proximity sensor for detecting locations of nearby objects and their velocities. A risk is determined based on the nearby object location and velocity. Additionally, the driver's knowledge of vehicle circumstances is determined based on the nearby object location and velocity as well as the eye gaze location. Responsive to the driver's knowledge and the risk, an alert is activated.
