A pair of walls () extend from and along the V shape (-) to an upper rim () to present an outlet () defined by each of the walls () having a front edge () slanting upward from the holding surface () and along each of the walls () at an egress angle (&#x3b1;) to a junction () with the upper rim (). Each of the walls () is tilted at an included angle (&#x3b8;) to space the junctions () and the front edges () at a constant width (w) along the outlet (). In an engaged position, the trowel is at a slope angle (&#x3c6;) to engage the front edges () with the vertical joint between bricks.
