A gas shielded arc torch for welding or cutting having a torch head surrounding a collet assembly including a collet body and a slotted collet for gripping and positioning an electrode within the torch head and a torch cap for locking the collet within the collet body. The torch cap has a taper for engaging the unslotted end of the collet and the collet body has a taper for engaging the slotted end of the collet. The taper in the torch cap is substantially larger than the taper in the collet body.

Gas shielded arc torch and collet assembly

The torch comprises a collet assembly including a collet body and collet for receiving an electrode; a composite torch head having a barrel shaped end in which the collet assembly is mounted, a tubular shank extending from the barrel shaped end; and a cylindrical handle engaging the tubular shank in a coaxial relation at the forward end thereof. The torch handle has a seal assembly at the rear end thereof for forming a fluid sealed cavity within its interior. A separate power cable and shielding gas hose pass into the cavity through the seal assembly. The shielding gas functions to cool the torch handle and the torch body.

Air cooled gas shielded arc torch

The invention is a solar heater which may function as a humidifier and which has a reflector that is constructed to provide a window, and external thermal insulation. The window has a cover that is positioned to transmit solar radiation to the reflector. The top portion of the reflector has an opening, and a container is removably positioned in the opening. The reflector has a geometry that reflects a high percentage of solar energy to the container, which has a surface with high absorptance. The container has a removable lid for confining heat within the container for certain functions, such as boiling water or drying clothes. When used as a humidifier, the container is filled with water and the lid is removed.

Solar heater

A metal inert gas welding torch having a wire guide assembly threadably secured at one end to a torch body and a collet nut assembly threadably secured to the other end of the wire guide assembly. A spidered collet is mounted in the collet nut assembly and forms a plenum chamber with the wire guide assembly and collet nut. A contact tip is gripped by the spidered collet and extends into the plenum chamber whereby the shielding gas cools the contact tip prior to the distribution of such gas into a nozzle.
