A spool and method of adjusting the same are disclosed. The spool is configured to provide a retainer for cable. The may include an upper flange, a lower flange, a plurality of access slots, a center portion, and a plurality of support legs. The support legs are configured to support the spool at a first distance above a securing surface, the support legs being adjustable to provide at least one additional distance that is different from the first distance.

Cable spool with height adjustment capability and method of performing the same

A cable interface housing cover is disclosed. The cable interface housing cover is connected to a cable interface portion of a cable interface housing. The cable interface housing cover includes a U-shaped portion and a hinged portion connected to a rotating axis. The hinged portion is configured to rotate about the rotating axis upon being handled by the end user to expose the cable interface housing to allow a cable to be inserted into the cable interface housing once the housing cover is lifted via a lifting operation.

Fiber optic cable interface cover and method of operating the same

A cabinet for housing telecommunications equipment in outdoor locations includes an enclosure for containing the telecommunications equipment. A subrack is mounted within the enclosure. A duct directs ambient air from outside the cabinet to the subrack. The duct includes an inlet disposed in a lower portion of the cabinet and a subrack inlet plenum disposed immediately below the subrack. A subrack exit plenum is disposed above the electronic subrack for exhausting air heated by the electronics equipment. A fan draws ambient air into the inlet through the duct into the subrack inlet plenum, through the electronic subrack into the subrack exit plenum, and out of the enclosure through the subrack exhaust plenum. A heater is provided for heating inlet air when ambient temperatures are low. The fan and heater are controlled by a thermal controller. At low ambient temperatures, the air flow is maintained constant by the fans and power to the heater is varied to maintain the subrack inlet temperature constant. At moderate temperatures, the heating element is turned off and the fan speed is varied up to the maximum fan speed. At high temperatures, the fans operate at full speed to maintain maximum air flow.

Electronics cabinet cooling system

An apparatus for limiting shadowing of RF coverage areas around antennas and closely associated equipment housings is disclosed. The equipment housing and antenna are located in close proximately such that the RF coverage area of the antenna is partially shadowed due to signal blockage by a face of the equipment housing or other structure. The shadowed RF coverage area is eliminated or substantially reduced by placement of a reflector to reflect emitted signals from the antenna into the shadowed RF coverage area.

Outdoor transmit/receive antenna mounting enclosure

An indoor/outdoor antenna mounting enclosure that may be mounted either vertically or horizontally comprises a front shell and a rear shell fastened together to enclose an interior space for a printed circuit board, the shells each have a plurality of cooling fins oriented obliquely to a longitudinal axis of the enclosure. Each of the front and rear shells includes mounting bosses for two receive antennas and a transmit antenna, the transmit antenna mounting location separated by a predetermined longitudinal distance from the first and second receive antenna mounting locations. The mounting bosses allow the antennas to be oriented either with the longitudinal or transverse axis of the enclosure. Keying holes in the shells ensure that the receive and transmit antennas are mountable only in the designated mounting location in the correct orientation. In addition, the receive antenna mounting locations on the front shell are back to back with the receive antenna mounting locations on the rear shell to prevent interference between receive and transmit antennas.

An optical network unit for field installation adjacent to an optical fiber transmission line, for separating multiplexed video and telephony signals for delivery to subscribers residences as electrical signals over metallic drop cables, has a hollow housing formed of heat-conductive material. The unit has a sealing front cover and rear cover, a cable entrance port for cable connections, and a backplane assembly mounted in the housing which incorporates optical-to-electrical signal conversion components and connectors for electrical signals. Slots are formed in the interior surfaces of the housing for positioning a plurality of printed circuit board cards for sliding installation into electrical contact with the backplane assembly. Internal fins each protruding from the housing into its hollow interior adjacent to one of the printed circuit board cards, promote heat dissipation from the cards via the internal fins to the exterior walls of the housing for cooling by external cooling fins exposed to the ambient atmosphere.
