A system and method for retention of flight deck preferences operates to control a comprehensive combination of aircraft systems and system configurations enabling a pilot to seamlessly retain and recall the desired preferences based on a plurality of mission related factors. With system control of flight deck physical settings including seat position and shape, display illumination and color and internal and external lighting configurations, the system allows a pilot to save time, effort, and minimize errors of system set up and configuration. With a short entry, or short-range sensing, of the pilot ID, the pilot commands the system and method for retention of flight deck preferences to configure each of the plurality of aircraft systems according to the recalled pilot preference.

Retention of flight deck preferences

A system and related method provide an ability at a local level to develop and modify an aircraft lighting configuration. Local maintenance may modify and replace a lighting configuration file associated with an aircraft lighting control defining default values and preset intensities for interior, exterior, cabin, and cargo bay lighting. A Graphical User Interface (GUI) offers a maintenance technician and a crewmember efficient flight deck control of each zone and field enabling efficient user control of each aspect of aircraft lighting.

Lighting system configuration

Display systems and methods for configuring such display systems are disclosed. A display system may include a display and a monitoring processor in communication with the display. The monitoring processor may be configured to monitor a status of a device and present the status of the device on the display. The display system may also include a control processor in communication with the display. The control processor may be configured to operate independently with respect to the monitoring processor. The control processor may be further configured to process a user input and facilitate control of the device based on the user input received.

An apparatus for a personal electronic device can include a near field communications interface and a secure communication system. The personal electronic device can be a variety of computing platforms including a tablet computer or a smart phone. The near field communication interface communicates wirelessly with the personal electronic device. The secure communication system receives encrypted data and provides non-encrypted data to the near field communication interface.

Secure communication apparatus and method for a mobile computing device

The node communication controller (NCC) suitable for use in a line-replaceable unit (LRU) of a modular avionics system may include one or more embedded processors configured to host one or more functions associated with at least one avionics module of an avionics system, an input/output (I/O) controller, and one or more I/O ports, wherein the I/O controller is configured to route data between the one or more embedded processors and the at least one avionics module via the one or more I/O ports and a network communication bus, wherein the I/O controller is further configured to route data between a host processor of the LRU and an additional avionics module via the one or more I/O ports and the network communication bus.

Integrated modular avionics system with distributed processing

A high integrity, high availability avionics display architecture for an avionics display system. The architecture includes a plurality of display processing computers (DPC) and a plurality of display integrity feedback interfaces. Each DPC includes at least two independent processing channels. Each independent processing channel includes at least two independent lanes. Each independent lane includes an I/O section and a processor section. Furthermore, each independent processing channel comprises an operative graphics section. At least one of the independent lanes provides a critical display function that provides commands to the graphics section to drive a display signal to displays of the avionics system. A number of display integrity feedback interfaces from the displays of the avionics display system provide integrity by allowing the integrity monitor functions to detect faults within the display signals and/or originating from the displays.

Avionics display architecture with independent processing and monitoring channels

A remote concentration system includes at least one avionics computing resource module; and, a plurality of remote wireless data concentration components. The avionics computing resource module and the wireless data concentration components are operably connected via a wireless (Ultra-Wideband) UWB network. The wireless data concentration components may be operably connected with multiple data paths via the wireless UWB network to enhance communication availability.

Remote concentration system for an integrated modular avionics system

A multi-core processor system including a main processor, an internal EPON bus, and a plurality of secondary core processors. The main processor includes a processing unit; an offload engine operatively connected to the processing unit for routing data to and from the processing unit; a plurality of main processor optical network units (ONU's) operatively connected to the offload engine; and, a dual optical line terminal (OLT) operatively connected to the offload engine. The internal EPON bus is operatively connected to the OLT. The plurality of secondary core processors are located physically separate from the main processor, each secondary core processor having a respective secondary core processor ONU being operatively connected to the main processor via the internal EPON bus. A number of the multi-core processor systems can be used to form an integrated modular avionics (IMA) system when operatively connected to remote data concentration components via an external EPON bus connected to the dual OLTs of the multi-core processor systems.
