Tamping tool for a chipper/shredder

A tamping tool having a pushing member configured for insertion into a hopper throat of a chipper/shredder device. An operator engageable handle is formed to an end of the pushing member, and a stop is formed intermediate the length of the pushing member for engagement with a hopper of the chipper/shredder to limit the distance the member may be inserted into the hopper throat, the position of the stop being selected to prevent the engagement of the tool with the pulverizing elements of the chipper shredder. A hook is provided on the handle for convenient storage of the tool on the hopper.

A construction apparatus with a trimmer connected by a three-point suspension wherein each of the three points is independently adjustable for adjusting the angle of the trimmer relative to the main frame in accordance with the desired slope or grade of the ground surface and to raise and lower the trimmer. The trimmer is also provided with an improved carriage for permitting the trimmer to be moved laterally outwardly of the construction apparatus to grade the ground surface alongside the construction apparatus. The construction apparatus preferably molds a paving material onto the ground immediately behind the trimmer so that concurrent grading and molding is accomplished in one pass of the construction apparatus.

Construction apparatus with earth trimmer

A self propelled construction apparatus for continuously forming a paving material on a suitable surface such as the ground. The apparatus is capable of performing a variety of molding operations. The main frame of the apparatus is so constructed as to be adjustably extended outwardly longitudinally for wide width paving. Also, the apparatus can be laterally adjusted to perform narrow width paving. The apparatus may have an offset mold on either side thereof for offset molding or a mold underneath the main frame for molding between the ground engaging means. Further, means for mounting and connecting the mold to the main frame allows the mold to be moved angularly on a vertical axis from an operative position alongside the main frame to a transport position at the end of the substantially aligned with the main frame.
