A machine for the harvest of stalk-like plants with a cutting arrangement for cutting plant stalks that extends in a plane terminating in a cutting edge and a conveying arrangement for taking up and conveying away the cut plant stalks. The plane of the cutting arrangement is inclined upward in the forward operating direction (V) of the machine.

A machine for harvesting crops having stalks includes a plurality of mowing and intake devices for cutting and conveying the crop through a transverse conveying channel in a direction toward a longitudinal midplane of the machine. On each side of the midplane there is provided a deflection channel, which curves rearward in an arc from a direction extending perpendicular to a forward direction of travel of the machine toward an intake channel arranged along the midplane at a rear side of the machine. A deflection conveying drum is arranged adjacent a rear side of the deflection channel to convey the crop coming from the transverse conveying through the deflection channel. An additional conveying wheel, which moves relative to, and has drivers sweeping through, the deflection channel is formed separate from the mowing and intake devices and is arranged on the same side of the midplane as the deflection conveying drum, but has an axis of rotation forward of a forward side of the deflection channel.

A machine is provided for harvesting stalk-like crop, with a frame, to which in each case at least three mowing and intake arrangements are attached of which the first mowing and intake arrangement that is directly adjoining the longitudinal center plane of the machine and can be driven in such a way that their forward regions of the machine, as seen in the forward operating direction, move towards the outside. The second mowing and intake arrangements, that follow the first mowing and intake arrangement to the outside move in the opposite direction to the first mowing and intake arrangements. The third mowing and intake arrangements, which follow the second mowing and intake arrangements to the outside, are driven in the same direction as the first mowing and intake arrangements.

Machine for mowing stalk-like crop

A machine for the harvest of stalk-like plants is provided. The machine has a frame, two conveying elements supported on the frame and arranged one above the other with recesses distributed around their circumference for taking up and conveying a flow of crop that includes plant stalks. A stripper extends into the intervening space between the conveying elements in order to move the plant stalks out of the recesses. The stripper is connected to the frame by a free-standing post that extends vertically and is arranged outside the flow of the crop conveyed by the conveying elements. A point of the stripper interacts with the conveying elements located to the rear of the axis of rotation of the conveying elements relative to the forward operating direction of the machine.

A front harvesting attachment for a self-propelled harvesting machine having a central part pivotally mounted onto an intake channel of the harvesting machine, side parts that are moveable relative to the central part between an operating position, wherein the side parts are positioned on either side of the central part, and a raised transport position. Adjusting devices move the side parts between the operation and raised transport positions. Immobilizing devices selectively prevent movement of the front harvesting attachment relative to the intake channel during transport of the harvesting attachment. The immobilizing devices are coupled to the adjusting devices such that the immobilizing devices are actuated, thereby preventing movement of the front harvesting attachment relative to the intake channel, when the adjusting devices have moved the side parts to the raised transport position.

A stalk roll for a harvesting device for harvesting crop heads of stalk-like plants. The stalk roll is provided with a roll body having projecting drivers distributed around its periphery. The pull-in speed of the stalk rolls in a picking region where the crop heads are removed is less than in a region of the stalk rolls situated farther downstream after the crop head has been removed. The diameter of the roll body in the picking region is greater than in the region situated farther downstream. In addition, it is proposed that upstream of a picking region the stalk roll have an inlet region which cooperates with the parts of the plants beneath the crop heads, where the pull-in speed of the stalk roll is greater than in the picking region.

A drive train for a header of a harvesting machine. The harvesting machine has a main frame on which a feeder house is mounted. On the front face of the feeder house a mounting device is provided which is pivots with respect to the main frame about a fore/aft extending axis. A header is releasably fixed to the mounting device. The drive train for the header comprises a header drive shaft mounted to the mounting device driving a secondary drive shaft mounted on the header.

A drive train for a header of a harvesting machine comprising a variable length drive shaft. The variable length drive shaft has a first end having a first hinged connection which is connected via a drive element with a first shaft. The variable length drive shaft has a second end having a second hinged connection that is operatively coupled to a driven element in driving connection with a drive shaft of the header. The drive shaft drives harvesting elements of the header. A connection element is arranged to align the drive element and the driven element at least approximately parallel to each other.

A gathering and picking device having a gathering element arranged on a first side of a picking gap. The gathering element is rotated about a predominantly vertical axis and is provided with carrier elements arranged to grasp standing plants and to introduce them into the picking gap in cooperation with a conveying element. The conveying element is arranged upstream and above the inlet of the picking gap on the side of the picking gap opposite from the gathering element. A picking unit is operable to move the plants downwardly through the picking gap, such that useful parts of the standing plants are separated.

A crop lifter auger is rotatably driven by a drive. The crop lifter auger has a first forward end and a second rear end. The drive drives the crop lifter auger at the first forward end. The first forward end of the crop lifter auger is pivotally mounted whereas the second rear end can be fixed into different positions.
