A method for real-time quantitative detection of single-type, target nucleic acid sequences amplified using a PCR in a microwell, comprising introducing in the microwell a sample comprising target nucleic acid sequences, magnetic primers, and labelling probes; performing an amplification cycle to form labelled amplicons; attracting the magnetic primers to a surface through a magnetic field to form a layer including labelled amplification products and free magnetic primers; and detecting the labelled amplification products in the layer with a surface-specific reading method.

Integrated device for real time quantitative PCR

Gas sensor, comprising: a substrate of semiconductor material; a first working electrode on the substrate; a second working electrode on the substrate, at a distance from the first working electrode; an interconnection layer extending in electrical contact with the first and the second working electrode, configured to change its conductivity when reacting with gas species to be detected. The interconnection layer is of titanium oxide, has a porosity between 40% and 60% in volume and is formed by a plurality of meso-pores having at least one dimension in the range 6-30 nm connected to nano-pores having at least one respective dimension in the range 1-5 nm.

MOx-based gas sensor and manufacturing method thereof

A diagnostic device includes a photodiode formed by a body of semiconductor material having a first surface, an integrated optical structure on the first surface and having a second surface, and at least one detection region on the second surface. The at least one detection region includes at least one receptor that binds to a corresponding target molecule that can be mated with a corresponding marker, which, when excited by radiation having a first wavelength, emits radiation having a second wavelength that can be detected by the photodiode. The integrated optical structure includes at least a first layer of a first material having a first refractive index. The first layer has a thickness substantially equal to an integer and odd multiple of one fourth of the first wavelength divided by the first refractive index.

Optically accessible microfluidic diagnostic device

A confocal optical detector including a light source generating a first optical beam along an axis; an optoelectronic sensor; an optical focusing device, which receives and focuses the first optical beam; and a hole, which receives the first optical beam and is arranged between the optoelectronic sensor and the optical focusing device. The optoelectronic sensor is arranged between the light source and the hole. In addition, the optoelectronic sensor and the optical focusing device are aligned along the axis.
