An electrical wiring device assembly having a uniform user facing surface that can be provided with a new electrical wiring device or retrofit to an existing wiring device. The surface is a sleeve that omits crevices, gaps, indentations and other irregularities that can collect and harbor harmful pathogens. The sleeve can be rigid or flexible and is coupled to the wiring device to allow a user to operate the wiring device, such as by allowing a user to move a toggle or paddle switch, while covering the user facing side of the wiring device.

An electrical wiring device including a ground fault interrupt assembly, the ground fault interrupt assembly comprising a ground fault interrupt circuit, being formed on a first printed circuit board, and a trip mechanism, the ground fault interrupt circuit being configured to detect a differential current between the line conductor and the neutral conductor and to trigger the trip mechanism to electrically decouple the plurality of line terminals from the plurality of load terminals, according to a predetermined criterion, based, at least in part, on the different current; and a USB power supply circuit being formed on a second printed circuit board disposed within the compartment, the USB power supply circuit providing to the at least one USB port, wherein the first printed circuit board and the second printed circuit board are separated by a distance within the inner compartment.

A protective electrical wiring device including: a plurality of line terminals including a first line terminal and a second line terminal; a plurality of load terminals including a first load terminal and a second load terminal, wherein the plurality of line terminals and the plurality of load terminals are configured to be coupled to an AC electrical distribution system; a pair of contacts including a first contact and a second contact; and a latch block being configured to move between a first position and a second position, wherein in the first position the latch block permits the first line terminal and the first load terminal to be in contact with the first contact and the second line terminal and second load terminal to be in contact with the second contact, wherein, when moving from the first position to the second position, the latch block advances at least one of the first line terminal and the first load terminal away from the first contact and at least one of the second line terminal and the second load terminal away from the second contact.

In one embodiment, there is provided an overmolded support assembly for support of optical elements. In one embodiment the support assembly can be of multi component construction including a base component and a supplementary component, wherein the supplementary component can be overmolded onto the base component. In one embodiment each of the base component and the supplementary component can be of unitary construction. In one embodiment the supplementary component can have a material hardness rating of lower than a material hardness rating of the base component.

Support assembly for terminal

A retail store network comprising a cash register, server, and hand held optical reader for reading a bar code symbol of an item and generating a decoded out bar code data message. The hand held bar code reader has an electrical connector and a wireless transceiver. The optical reader can be used with a base unit also having an electrical connector and a wireless transceiver. The network is configured so that the hand held bar code reader and the base unit have one linking mode in which the address of the base unit is sent to the hand held bar code reader through their respective electrical connectors. The linking process is completed by way of wireless communication, including the transmission of the address of the hand held bar code reader to the base unit. The hand held bar code reader further comprises circuitry to allow the optical reader to also operate in a linking mode where it can link with other devices that it cannot physically mate its electrical connector with, but can initiate the linking and complete the process wirelessly.

Method and system for linking a wireless hand held optical reader with a base unit or other wireless device

A body portion of an optical reader has an elastomeric skirt surrounding the lateral edges thereof. The laterally spaced front edges of the skirt, which are on either side of a window through which the light is emitted and received along an optical axis, are angled rearwardly from a plane normal to the axis. The front edges extend downwardly and forwardly from a front edge of the bottom wall of a body, and also extend forwardly from a front edge of the top wall of the body. These features allow the lower ends of the front edges of the skirt to be placed on a surface near the target to act as a fulcrum in rotating the handle of the scanner to selectively place the reader in close proximity to the target, while at the same time allowing the operator to view the target. An elastomeric collar is applied to the lower end of the handle such that when the scanning device is placed at rest in an unused condition, no matter what the rotational position with respect to the axis of the handle, the device will be supported at one elastomeric covered position on each of the handle and the skirt. Other features of the scanning device provide for a stable parking of the scanner when not in use and a substantial recessing of the front window to thereby protect it from contact with objects that may tend to scratch or damage the window.

Variable definition soft keys are highly versatile an allow the user to change or alter the function of the soft keys based on a user program. Soft keys positioned adjacent the display and labeled with down and up arrows graphically reinforce a wide range of text and graphic combinations shown on the display.
