A method of cooling a downhole tool. A first step involves providing a cooling chamber in the downhole tool. The cooling chamber is positioned in proximity to components to be cooled. A second step involves ports through defining walls of the downhole tool. The ports must be adapted to allow liquids from a well bore, in which the downhole tool is positioned, to communicate with the cooling chamber. A third step involves providing means to circulate liquids from the well bore in through the ports into the cooling chamber and out through the ports back into the well bore, such that the liquids in the cooling chamber are continually being replaced. A heat exchange takes place between the liquids in the cooling chamber and the components to be cooled. The liquids are continually being replaced dissipating heat into the well bore.

Method of cooling a downhole tool and a downhole tool

A pumping installation for a gas producing well. A gas compressor is positioned on surface which receives gas. The compressor is powered by hydraulic fluid. An engine is positioned a sufficient distance from the gas producing well as not to pose a danger of gas explosion. A hydraulic reservoir is provided. Hydraulic fluid is circulated by the engine to supply hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic reservoir needed to power the compressor.

Pumping installation for a gas producing well

A hydraulic oil well pumping installation includes a down hole pump positioned down a well, the down hole pump including a master cylinder and at least one slave cylinder in axial alignment with the master cylinder. A master piston is positioned in the master cylinder and divides the master cylinder into a first portion and a second portion. A slave piston is positioned in the at least one slave cylinder and divides the slave cylinder into a first portion and a second portion. The slave piston is connected by a rigid linkage to the master piston, such that movement of the master piston results in movement of the slave piston.
