A locking assembly for a plurality of vertically aligned drawers in a housing that includes a locking member associated with at least each of the drawers and wherein the locking member is arranged for reciprocal vertical movement relative to the housing. A slide mechanism is associated with each of the drawers with each of the slide mechanisms being aligned perpendicular to the locking mechanism and being arranged for reciprocal horizontal extension to move the drawers between closed and opened positions with respect to the housing. Each of the slide mechanisms for at least each of the drawers other than the uppermost drawer includes a ramp section that is structured and dimensioned to engage the locking member when at least any one of the drawers other than the uppermost drawer is opened such that the remaining drawers are locked in a closed position.

Locking mechanism for multiple vertical drawers

A wiring management system for use in a furniture component includes a wiring management assembly with one or more wire pass through subassemblies for routing wiring therethrough. At least one of the pass through subassemblies comprises a plurality of separable covers for concealing an electrical appliance located on a support structure proximate to the pass through subassembly, while providing ready access to the electrical appliance. The pass through subassemblies preferably include a removable rosette piece for routing wiring therethrough.

A file system is disclosed which includes a pair of attachable hang rails for suspending hanging files in a drawer. Each hang rail includes a horizontal bar, a vertical post and a connector segment. The front end of the horizontal bar includes a camming surface and a notch. The front end is inserted into a slot on the inside surface of a front wall of a drawer. The bottom edge of the slot provides vertical support for the horizontal bar. The camming surface acts with the bottom edge of the slot to cause the notch to straddle the top edge of the slot, thereby locking the horizontal bar in the slot and providing longitudinal and rotational stability. The vertical post is supported by a pair of bracing sleeves located on the back wall of a drawer which provide transverse and rotational stability. The vertical post rests on the bottom of the drawer to provide vertical support.

An adjustable table is provided which includes a table top disposed a predetermined distance above a supporting surface. This table top provides a work surface and support for office machinery such as a visual display terminal. The table also includes an adjustable platform which may support a detachable keyboard or similar devices. A unique linkage system supports this platform and allows the operator to adjust the platform to a desired elevation and to lock it in place using an actuating and brake assembly while maintaining maximum clear knee space beneath the platform.

A movable storage unit is disclosed which comprises a storage unit housing with front casters and rear casters attached to the bottom of the housing by means of swivel attachments. Each front caster includes a locking brake with an actuation lever which extends forward through the lower portion of a skirt attached to the lower front of the housing. The skirt effectively screens the casters from view and holds each front caster in a position fixed toward the front of the unit relative to the caster's swivel axis. The skirt is recessed at the points through which the actuation levers extend, thereby improving the accessibility of the actuation levers and providing space to recess the actuation levers behind the front plane of the storage unit housing.
