A process for removing contaminating solvents from solutions containing solid solutes comprising contacting a co-solvent that forms an azeotrope with the contaminating solvent forming a mixture thereby and spray drying the contaminating solvent co-solvent mixture in the presence of the co-solvent at a temperature equal to or above the temperature where the azeotrope distills whereby the contaminating solvent has been azeotropically distilled away from the solute.
