The present disclosure is directed towards conducting a search for content and results using a user interface. A number of graphical objects () and filters are displayed where a search query is generated in response to a user gesture () that selects a graphical object and filter. The filters shown can change depending on various factors that impact what filters are selected from a group of filters ().

Visual search and recommendation user interface and apparatus

A method for making a content recommendation to at least one user commences by first establishing a location for the at least one user. Thereafter a check occurs to determine which devices are available to the at least one user to use (e.g., consume) the content at the location. Next, the content available to the at least one user is determined based on at least the user's location and available devices available to the at least one user. A content recommendation is then made among the available content based on at least one attribute of the at least one user.

The disclosed embodiments relate to a system and method for a touchscreen device. The method includes presenting a program guide. The program guide includes a cell associated with a content item. The cell is selected in response to a first user input. The method also includes determining, in response to a second user input, a number of content occurrences of the content item to record based on a length of the second user input. The second user input includes a rightward movement. Additionally, the method includes scheduling the content item to be recorded for the number of content occurrences.
