An attachment part for connecting to a structural part. The attachment part has an attachment part longitudinal axis, and a weld portion to be welded to the structural part by torsional ultrasonic welding. The weld portion has a contact surface for contact with a torsion sonotrode, and a weld surface for connecting to the structural part. The weld portion is delimited, at least portionally, by an inner vibration decoupling zone. The inner vibration decoupling zone, at least portionally, surrounds an inner portion of the attachment part.

Attachment part for connecting to a structural part

An add-on part () for connecting to a component (). The add-on part () has a longitudinal axis (A) and a welding section () to be welded to the component () by torsional ultrasonic welding. The welding section () has a contact surface () for contact with a torsion sonotrode () and a welding surface () for connecting to the component (). The welding section () is delimited, at least in some sections, by an inner vibration-decoupling zone (). The inner vibration-decoupling zone () extends, at least in some sections, at an inclination to or parallel to the longitudinal axis (A). The method comprises a) bringing the welding surface () in contact with a welding region (), b) applying a force to the contact surface () such that the welding surface () is pressed against the welding region (), and c) introducing a torsional ultrasonic vibration into the welding section.

A method for connecting a tubular cable lug produced from a non-ferrous metal to a strand produced from aluminum, includes steps of providing a tubular cable lug having a tubular portion and a connecting portion, providing an ultrasonic welding device having a sonotrode that has a pressure surface and having an anvil that has a mating pressure surface, securing the connecting portion to the anvil by clamping such that the tubular portion faces the mating pressure surface of the anvil, inserting one end of the strand into the tubular portion of the tubular cable lug, bringing the pressure surface into contact with the tubular portion, pressing the pressure surface against the tubular portion such that the tubular portion is forced against the mating pressure surface, and generating an ultrasound vibration oriented approximately perpendicular to a tube axis of the tubular portion by means of the sonotrode.

Method for connecting a tubular cable lug to a strand produced from aluminium

The invention relates to a torsion sonotrode (S) having a contact surface () for transferring a torsional oscillation directed about a torsion axis (T) onto a component () to be welded. To ensure that the welded joint has a uniform strength, it is proposed according to the invention that the contact surface () has a flat stop surface () which runs substantially perpendicular to the torsion axis (T) and from which elevations () of insular design extend with a pointed form.
