In a ureter drainage device comprising a ureteral catheter ( ), a sliding hose ( ) to be coupled to the proximal end of the ureteral catheter ( ), and a control hose ( ) to be mounted over the sliding hose ( ), it is provided that the ureteral catheter ( ) and the sliding hose ( ) comprise mutually engaging coupling elements ( ). At least one coupling element ( ), provided on the sliding hose ( ), is radially outwardly biased in the release direction and retained in the engagement position by the control hose ( ) covering this coupling element ( ).

Ureter drainage device

Intermediate an intracorporal first section and an extracorporal third section, a transcutaneous implantation catheter has a second section entirely consisting of an open-pore fiber fabric having a porous outer surface. It is particularly advantageous for a fast growing-in process that is not inflammatory and for a good transition from the subcutaneous connective tissue to the area of the skin epithelium, if the porosity (the spaces between the fabric fibrils) increases from the inside to the outside of the catheter. This allows the tissue to grow into the second section of the catheter. The implantation tunnel closes completely so that no liquid collections are allowed to be formed between the catheter and the tissue. The risk of infections is reduced. The first section is of the same material as the second section, but has a smooth surface and a wall of solid material.

Transcutaneous implantation catheter

A mandrel for use with a catheter or body probe comprises at least four outer wires which are spirally wound with a high pitch around a straight wire core. The outer wires are covered by a coating of plastic of uniform thickness wherein the coating is sufficiently thin so that the contours of the outer wires are preserved on the outer side of the mandrel. Each turn of the outer wires has a large component in longitudinal direction, and the mandrel is easily displaceable within the catheter.

Mandrel for hose type catheters and body probes

A coupling for connecting the ends of medical apparatus tubes. The coupling has male and female conical mating elements on first and second end pieces. Each end piece is adapted to receive the end of a tube. The end pieces are locked together to prevent unintentional separation. Locking is achieved by at least one finger extending from one end piece to the other end piece. The finger, in addition to its locking function, resists tension when tensile stress is applied to a coupled tube.
