The application relates to a hearing device, e.g. a hearing aid, comprising a first part for being inserted in an ear canal or fully or partially implanted in the head of a user, the first part comprising at least one electrode unit, termed a PR-electrode unit, for making contact to skin or tissue of a user when mounted or implanted in an operational condition, the at least one PR-electrode unit being configured to pick up a physiological response from the user, and wherein the at least one PR-electrode unit comprises an electrically conductive material, e.g. a shape memory alloy. The first part may comprise an implanted part, e.g. in combination with an external part adapted for being located in an ear canal, wherein both parts comprise one or more PR-electrode units. The invention may e.g. be used hearing aids, headsets, ear phones, active ear protection systems, or combinations thereof, e.g. to control processing of the hearing device or to monitor a condition of the user wearing the hearing device.

Hearing device comprising electrodes for picking up a physiological response

A method for correct placement of an in-ear communication device, e.g. a hearing aid, in an ear canal of a user, the in-ear communication device comprising an acoustic seal towards inner surfaces of the ear canal and being configured to be located in a bony part of the ear canal during normal operation, comprises: placing the in-ear communication device in the ear canal thereby forming a substantial acoustic seal in the soft part of the ear canal; generating body-conducted sound to inner surface portions of the user's ear canal; gradually inserting the device deeper into the ear canal in the direction towards the ear drum, until a position where the sound level perceived by the user decreases; maintaining the device in this position in the ear canal, this position being the correct position of the device in the bony part of the ear canal. An in-ear device is furthermore provided.

Methods and devices for correct and safe placement of an in-ear communication device in the ear canal of a user

The invention relates to a binaural hearing aid device, comprising a first hearing aid and a second hearing aid, respectively. Each hearing aid comprises a microphone unit, a receiver unit, an audio processor and a speaker unit. The microphone unit is configured to receive an acoustic front tone, indicative of a front part of a surround sound, and to convert the acoustic front tone into an electric front signal. The receiver unit is configured to receive a wireless rear communication signal, indicative of a rear part of the surround sound, and to convert the rear communication signal into an electric rear signal. The audio processor is configured to receive the electric front signal and the electric rear signal and to determine a processed electric rear signal with respect to the electric front signal, by adjusting a time delay between the electric rear signal and the electric front signal and by adjusting a sound level of the electric rear signal according to a sound level of the electric front signal, wherein the audio processor of the first hearing aid is configured to adjust the time delay and the sound level of the electric rear signal differently than the audio processor of the second hearing aid, such that the combined acoustic output of the first hearing aid and of the second hearing aid form the rear part of the surround sound.

Binaural hearing aid device

A hearing aid device configured to be partly or fully inserted into the ear canal of a user is disclosed. The hearing aid device comprises a receiver (loudspeaker) adapted to generate and send an air-borne acoustic signal towards the eardrum when the hearing aid device is partly or fully inserted into the ear canal. The hearing aid device further comprises a microphone configured to receive acoustic signals. The hearing aid device comprises a processing unit configured to determine if the hearing aid device is positioned in a correct position in the ear canal on the basis of the acoustic signals received by the microphone.

A floor drain with a bottom part having at least one discharge opening, a front part that is integral with the bottom part and which has a first part inclined to the bottom part at an angle of at least 30&#xb0;, and a flange part that is horizontal or inclined to horizontal at an angle of less than 20&#xb0;, two side walls integral with the bottom part and first part, and a back part that is integral with the bottom part. In the method according to the invention the communication device has a microphone and a signal path leading from the microphone to a speaker, where the signal path comprises a programmable signal processing unit. According to the method the user is given control in a training session over one or more signal processing parameters within the signal processing unit. In the training session the user listens to the sound of his or her own voice transmitted through the communication device, and adjusts the one or more signal processing parameters until he or she is satisfied with the sound quality of his/her own voice. The values of the signal processing parameters chosen by the user during the training session are stored in a storing means within the device, and the programmable signal processing automatically uses the stored parameter when detection means within the unit detects the users own voice.
