An open-end spinning frame()having a spinning rotor(), whose rotor shaft()is supported, free of axial thrust, in the bearing wedge of a support disk bearing arrangement()and is fixed in place by means of a magnetic axial bearing(). The axial bearing()has a stationary magnetic bearing component()fixed on the bearing housing(), and a rotating magnetic bearing component()arranged at the end of the rotor shaft and having at least two annular shoulders()defined by recesses()in the rotor shaft(). The sharpness of the annular shoulders()is reduced in the area between their outer circumference()and the adjoining radial faces()of each annular shoulder, e.g., via curved or beveled surfaces in such area, and the base surfaces()of the recesses()are each connected via rounded sections()with the radial faces()of the adjoining annular shoulders().

A conduit plate adapter for use with an open-end spinning device, comprising a base body having a central passage bore extending therethrough and a yarn withdrawal nozzle mouth fixedly secured directly in the central passage bore. The conduit plate adapter of the present invention is removably inserted into a conduit plate.

A generally cylindrical opening roller unit of an open-end spinning device includes a unitary ring body having card clothing formed of at least one helical groove formed in the ring body, at least one helical ridge between courses of the groove, and saw teeth defined by transverse cuts on the ridge. The roller unit also includes an integrated annular collar that is at least codiametric with the teeth in order to protect the teeth. An integral transition area between the card clothing and the annular collars eliminates the problem of a tooth gap.

A support disk bearing (1) for an open-end spinning rotor (9) with support disks (4, 5) arranged in pairs, each of which has a hub body (14) made of a metallic material and a bearing ring (15) made of a polymeric material. On its circumference, the hub body (14) has a radial circumferentially extending profiling (20), between whose V-shaped center structure (21) and lateral ribs (22, 23) the free flanks (24, 25) of an M-shaped bearing ring (15) can be fixed, and which has a thickness (D) which is almost constant in cross section.

Support disk bearing for an open-end spinning rotor

A method for producing a spinning box frame for an open-end spinning machine wherein lateral elements (2, 3) of a spinning box frame (1) are connected with interposed bracing elements (4, 5, 6) by means of a welding process which substantially prevents the occurrence of heat distortion tensions. The bracing elements (4, 5, 6) are joined by means of a laser welding process, preferably with a CO.sub.2 laser, squarely on the interior wall (20) of the lateral elements (2, 3). The components (2 to 6) of the spinning box frame (1) are fixed in place in a welding device (26), which permits the exact positioning of the individual components during the laser welding process.

Method for producing spinning box frames for open-end spinning devices

In an open-end spinning machine (1) with a plurality of open-end spinning devices (3), each having a spinning rotor (15) whose rotor shaft (26) is seated in the bearing wedge of an axial thrust-free support disk bearing (27) and is positioned by a magnetic bearing (29), and a service unit (10), which automatically services the spinning devices, a sensor device (41) is provided on the service unit (10), which is connected to the control device (18) of the service unit (10) and checks an identification marker (34) applied to each spinning rotor (15). The control device (18) actuates a yarn piecing operation by the service unit only upon detection of an identification marker (34) identifying the spinning rotor (15) to be compatible with the associated spinning device.

Method and device for operating an open-end spinning machine

An open-end spinning device comprises a spinning rotor rotating in a vacuum-loaded rotor housing which can be closed by a conduit plate having a receptacle receiving a replaceable conduit-plate adapter and a locking device, e.g., a bar spring, for spring-biasing the conduit-plate adapter into the receptacle. A blocking device comprising a hood-like cover is associated with the locking device for movement into an operating position only when the locking device is positioned in a locking position in which it reliably fixes the conduit-plate adapter.

Open-end spinning device

A yarn guide drum of a bobbin winder includes a one-piece metal drum body having a jacket surface. A yarn-guiding reversing thread groove is cut into the jacket surface. The reversing thread groove has intersections and is divided into given groove portions in the vicinity of the intersections and other groove portions. The reversing thread groove has a club-like cross-sectional shape in the other groove portions. The reversing thread groove has a rounded groove bottom, a variable depth at least at the intersections, a variable width, a relatively flatter portion, and a relatively deeper portion interrupting the relatively flatter portion defining a groove portion of relatively lesser depth and relatively lesser width through which the yarn initially passes, being followed by a collector pocket groove portion of relatively greater width which decreases in width as the groove continues. The collector pocket groove portions have lateral reversing thread groove surfaces beginning at the intersections with a concave cross section and a steepness increasing toward the jacket surface and gradually merging with the club-like cross-sectional shape with increasing distance from the intersections.
