A heat exchanger may include a plate, a seal and a cover. The plate may have at least two receiving grooves having a respective groove base, an intermediate region disposed in a plane between a plurality of rim holes, and a ramp extending between the intermediate region and the respective groove base of the at least two receiving grooves. The seal extends in the at least two receiving grooves. The ramp may be rounded at a transition to the receiving grooves with a first radius and at a transition to the intermediate region with a second radius, and the ramp may be inclined between 20&#xb0;&#x3c;&#x3b1;&#x3c;65&#xb0; relative to the intermediate region or has an S-shaped progression. An inflection point of the plate may be arranged in a region from 10% to 80% of a height difference between the intermediate region and the respective groove base.

Heat exchanger with a circumferential seal

A gas-cooled heat exchanger, in particular a direct intercooler, for cooling of a fluid which flows through the heat exchanger, with a heat transfer block featuring a plurality of flow channels, with a first collection chamber and a second collection chamber. The collection chambers are fluidically connected with one another via the flow channels and the outside of the heat transfer block can be perfused by gas. In the direction of the perfusion, a screen is arranged in front of the heat transfer block for the prevention of flow in certain areas around the flow channels of the screen. One of the collection chambers features a vent for discharge of condensate of the fluid which can be sealed from or released into the surrounding area of the heat exchanger.

A heat exchanger, in particular an intercooler, is provided that includes at least one collector box that has a base. At least one tube engages into a passage in an approximately perpendicular manner with respect to the base, the passage protruding out of the base and surrounding a tube end, and the passage has a rectangular cross-section that is adapted to the outer circumference of the tube. The aim of the invention is to further extend the service life of the heat exchanger with a further reduction of the wall thickness of the collector box base as well as of the tube. This is achieved in that a wall thickness of the passage is thinned at least in a corner region.

The invention relates to a heat exchanger for motor vehicles, especially for utility vehicles. The heat exchanger can include a heat exchanger unit that includes tubes having tube ends and ribs disposed between the tubes, and collecting tanks disposed on both ends and produced by internal high pressure forming for introducing and discharging a medium. The collecting tanks can include bottoms with openings for receiving the tube ends, covers, and inlet and outlet tubes.
