A battery compartment for a traction battery, having a lower housing part with housing side walls and a housing bottom; a housing cover; and a crash frame with a closed hollow profile form along the housing side walls. In order to enable a low weight and outstanding crash behavior, it is proposed that the crash frame be provided in the lower housing part and have crash profiles, wherein the housing side walls and the crash profiles respectively form a profile section in the closed hollow profile form of the crash frame.

A battery carrier having a trough formed from shaped sheet metal, which has at least one trough side wall and a trough bottom connected to the trough side wall, a plurality of support profiles provided in the trough and affixed to the trough, at least one battery pack, which is affixed to at least two support profiles extending adjacent to the battery pack, a lid, which is detachably connected to said trough, and a heat exchanger, which is thermally connected to the battery pack and has at least one flow channel for a liquid. In order to enable a simple design and simple assembly and maintenance, it is proposed for the lid to form the heat exchanger, wherein the battery pack is arranged at a distance from the trough bottom and the trough bottom is permanently connected to the trough side wall or embodied of one piece with it.

A method for producing a shaped part from an aluminum sheet that includes an aluminum alloy, in particular an aluminum alloy of the 5000 series. The method includes introducing at least one aluminum sheet in a forming tool and cold-forming the aluminum sheet in the forming tool, and heating the cold-formed aluminum sheet at least once at least in some regions and at least once further metal forming the aluminum sheet. In order to create advantageous conditions for the method, it is proposed for the heated aluminum sheet to be subjected to the further metal forming step even before a temperature has been reached which the aluminum sheet has during the cold forming thereof.
