The invention relates to a medical instrumentation with a navigation system which comprises an optical detection unit comprising a camera, and a data processing unit coupled to the detection unit, with a stabilization element of a surgical fixation system and with a medical marking device which is held in a defined spatial arrangement on or is comprised by or formed by the stabilization element, the location and orientation of the marking device in space being determinable with the navigation system, it being possible for at least two images of the stabilization element and the marking device to be taken from a different orientation by means of the detection unit and for the shape of the stabilization element to be determined by the data processing unit on the basis of the two or more images. The invention also relates to a method for determining the shape of a surgical stabilization element.

Medical instrumentation and method

A pedicle screw system and/or a spinal stabilization system includes a pedicle screw having a screw shaft with an external thread and having a screw head supported on the screw shaft in a ball-and-socket joint relationship therewith. The screw head includes a connecting element receptacle for a connecting element of a spinal stabilization system. The pedicle screw system further includes a bone alignment device and a coupling device for at least one of force-locking coupling and form-locking coupling of the bone alignment device and the screw shaft when in an alignment position.

Pedicle screw system and spinal stabilization system

A pedicle screw system, including a pedicle screw having a screw shaft with an external thread and having a screw head supported on the screw shaft in a ball-and-socket joint relationship. The screw head includes a connecting element receptacle for a connecting element of a spinal stabilization system. The pedicle screw system further includes: a bone alignment apparatus and a coupling device for at least one of force-locking coupling and form-locking coupling of the bone alignment apparatus and the pedicle screw in an alignment position in which a mobility of the screw head and the screw shaft is reduced from three degrees of freedom of movement in rotation of the screw head supported on the screw shaft in a ball-and-socket joint relationship therewith by at least one degree of freedom of rotation.

An implant for stabilizing spinous processes of adjacent vertebral bodies can include first and second contact elements. The first contact element is placed onto a first side of the spinous processes and the second contact element is placed onto a second side of the spinous processes. The implant includes at least one clamping element which couples to the first contact element, can be moved relative to the second contact element, and extends through the intervertebral space between the spinous processes and the second contact element. The implant also includes at least one fixing element on the second contact element which can be brought into engagement with the at least one clamping element to clamp the second contact element in the direction of the first contact element along the at least one clamping element. The first contact element is movable relative to the at least one clamping element.
