A computer-implemented method for managing computing objects within enterprise software applications may include (1) providing, in connection with an enterprise software application, a graphical user interface that includes (i) a graphical tree structure that includes one or more pre-defined computing objects and (ii) an additional graphical tree structure that includes one or more user-specific object inventories, (2) detecting a user selection of at least one pre-defined computing object included in the graphical user interface in connection with at least one user-specific object inventory included in the additional graphical tree structure, and then (3) populating the user-specific object inventory included in the additional graphical tree structure with the selected pre-defined computing object in response to detecting the user selection. A computer-implemented method for replicating snapshots across backup domains may include 1) identifying a replication of a snapshot from a source storage device within a source domain to a target storage device within a target domain, 2) identifying a source master system within the source domain and a target master system within the target domain, 3) identifying metadata for managing the snapshot at the source master system, and 4) transmitting the metadata from the source master system to the target master system using a master-to-master communication channel that is separate from a communication channel used for the replication. According to one embodiment of the method, a group of backup data sources may be associated with a writer module on the backup server computer. Each backup data source may comprise data to be backed up from one of a plurality of client computer systems. The writer module may write the data from each of the backup data sources in the group to a target storage device in order to concurrently backup each backup data source to the target storage device. The writer module may also keep track of the rate at which data is written to the target storage device. The number of backup data sources in the group may be automatically adjusted based on the write rate, e.g., in order to maximize throughput to the target storage device.

A ranking may be determined for at least a subset of the possible transport path components. An availability may be determined for at least a subset of the possible transport path components. A transport path may be selected based on the determined rankings and the determined availabilities. The data duplication job may be performed using the selected transport path.
