The invention relates to a microfluidic device and to a method for use thereof for the separation, purification and concentration of components of fluid media. The invention relates in particular to a microfluidic device and a method for processing blood samples. A microfluidic device is provided, comprising: a structured component (), which is formed as a flat body; a microfluidic channel system (), which is configured in the structured component (); at least one component () applied to a surface of the structured component (); at least one porous functional element (); and at least one fluidic interface (), which is arranged at the structured component (), for supplying media into the microfluidic channel system ().

Microfluidic device and method for use thereof for the separation, purification and concentration of components of fluid media

A fluidic system includes a chamber with movable elements. The chamber is connected to a channel. The system contains at least one structured component and at least one element affixed thereto and at least one fluidic interface which can be closed by means of a cap or valve. Fluids or gases can be moved via one or more channels, and moreover can be dispensed from or taken into the system, by moving the movable element both into and out of the chamber. There is provided an additional element (filters, membranes, frits or similar elements) or integrated reagents which can be arranged in the form of an array of identical or different reagents.

Fluidic system for taking in, dispensing and moving liquids, method for processing fluids in a fluidic system

A microfluidic system comprising a chamber closed by movable elements and connected to at least one channel. The system has at least one structured component and at least one component attached to the structured component. The chamber is used such that the movable element can be moved into the chamber as well as out of the chamber by a movement of the movable element. Liquids or gases can be moved via one or more channels connected to the chamber by the movement and dispensed or received out of the structured component via a connection of the channel. A liquid reagent reservoir is connected to the pump chamber via the sample supply channel. Thus, the system can be used to receive, pump, dilute, mix, and dispense liquids or gases.

Device for receiving, dispensing, and moving liquids

The present invention describes a device consisting of a rotor, a holding-down device, and a base plate. The base plate is normally a fluidic system, a planar fluidic system for example or a fluidic system with several fluidic ports for a directed guidance of liquids or gases through different channels, channel systems, cavities or tubing, for the combination liquid and gas streams, or for prevention of liquid flows.
