Articles comprising: a molded substrate comprising one or more polycarbonate resins or blends of polycarbonate and polyester resins containing polydimethyl siloxanes modified with one or more of acrylate, hydroxyl or epoxy groups and disposed on the surface or a portion of the surface of the substrate is a cured silicone rubber; wherein the one or more polycarbonate resins or blends of polycarbonate and polyester resins contain the modified polydimethyl siloxanes in sufficient amount such that the peel strength is increased. Compositions comprising one or more polycarbonate resins or blends of polycarbonate and polyester resins containing polydimethyl siloxanes modified with one or more of acrylate, hydroxyl or epoxy groups in an amount of about 0.1 to less than 1.0 percent by weight. Methods for preparing the articles are disclosed.

Molded structures of polycarbonate based substrates over molded with silicone rubbers

Polycarbonate compositions having good flame retardancy and high light transmittance are achieved using the combination of a polycarbonate, a charring salt flame retardant, and a low molecular weight silicone compound. Light diffusing compositions are achieved using a particulate light diffusing agent. The compositions preferably meet or exceed one or more (and most preferably all) of the following flame retardancy standards: (i) UL-94 V-0 (t=1 mm); (ii) UL-94 5VA (t=2.5 mm); (iii) UL-94 5VB (t=2.5 mm).

Flame retardant polycarbonates having high total luminous transmittance

The present invention is an ignition resistant carbonate polymer composition, a method to make said composition and fabricated articles made therefrom. The ignition resistant carbonate polymer composition comprises: (i) an aromatic polycarbonate or an aromatic polyester carbonate, (ii) a graft polymer, (iii) optionally one or more thermoplastic vinyl (co)polymer, (iv) optionally one or more thermoplastic polyester polymer, (v) an aromatic phosphate compound, and (vi) a mixture of a fibril forming polytetrafluoroethylene polymer and a fluorothermoplast.

Ignition resistant carbonate polymer composition

Improved branched carbonate polymer blend compositions are prepared comprising a branched carbonate polymer component and a different linear carbonate polymer component. The branched carbonate polymers according to the invention are especially suitable for use in extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming and foaming processes and provide improved parts or articles.

Blend of branched and linear carbonate polymer resins

Disclosed is a process for the production of a rubber-reinforced polymer composition having a bimodal particle size distribution using parallel, substantially plug flow reactors to separately polymerize the same or different solutions of a rubber in a monovinylidene aromatic monomer and optionally at least one other monomer. After separate partial polymerizations, first and second prepolymer compositions are produced containing rubber particles having average particle sizes of from 0.05 to 1.5 micrometer and from 0.7 to 10 micrometer, respectively, with the average rubber particle size of the second prepolymer composition being at least 1.3 times the average rubber particle size of the first prepolymer composition.

Process for the preparation of rubber-reinforced monovinylidene aromatic

The flow properties of styrenic polymer resins derived from at least one monovinylidene aromatic compound and, optionally, other copolymerizable monomers, are improved by copolymerizing from 0.1 to 15 weight percent of an ester of acrylic acid, e.g., n-butylacrylate, with the monovinylidene aromatic compound and any other copolymerizable monomers employed in preparing the styrenic polymer resin.
