Hydrolysis-resistant copolyether-esteramides according to this invention are terminated, at one chain end, by a hydrocarbon radical and at the other chain end by a hydroxyl group. The sequential linear aliphatic copolyether-esteramides according to the invention are obtained by a polycondensation reaction of linear aliphatic dicarboxylic polyamide oligomers having a molecular weight comprised between 300 and 15,000, with .omega.-.omega.'-dihydroxyl polyoxyalkylene sequences having a molecular weight comprised between 100 and 6000 in the presence of a linear aliphatic monocarboxylic polyamide oligomer having a carboxyl group at one end of the macromolecular chain and a hydrocarbon radical at the other end thereof.

Hydrolysis-resistant copolyether-esteramides

A process to synthesize poly (ether-ester-amide) sequence copolycondensates by the reaction in a molten condition between a dicarboxylic polyamide, in which the carboxylic functions are located at the chain-ends, and a polyoxyalkoylene with hydroxylated chain-ends, in the presence of a catalyst. This reaction is performed continuously in a thin-film reaction space through which the reaction mixture passes continuously under turbulent flow conditions. This process, which involves much shorter reaction times, produces sequence copolycondensates with better mechanical properties than corresponding substances obtained by batch processes.

Process for continuous synthesis of poly (ether-ester-amide) sequence

Copolyetheresteramide based compositions which are stable with respect to the effects of heat, light and oxygen are disclosed. From about 0.05 to about 5% of 4-4'-bis-(.alpha.-.alpha.'-dimethylbenzyl)-diphenylamide either alone or in combination with 0.01 to 2% of cuprous iodide and potassium iodide such that the ratio of CuI to KI is between 0.1 and 1.9 is added to the copolyetheresteramide to form a stable composition.

Heat and aging stable copolyetheresteramides and method of manufacturing

A process for preparing pure N-alkyl-lactams obtained by the reaction, in an organic solvent medium of, the corresponding lactamate of an alkali metal and an alkyl halide. This process consists of treating a reactive mixture of N-alkyl-lactam containing the corresponding cyclo-alkylene imine as an impurity with a current of carbon dioxide, until the cyclo-alkylene imine precipitates completely in the form of an insoluble carbonate, and then separating it from the precipitate.
