A method for forming a fiber-reinforced cable tie includes placing at least one reinforcing fiber in a mold cavity, injecting a molten material in the mold cavity, wherein the molten material defines a melt front during injection, and maintaining a position of the reinforcing fiber within the mold cavity at the melt front during the injecting of the melt, whereby the fiber is substantially encapsulated by the molten material. A mold for forming a fiber-reinforced cable tie includes a mold cavity and a fiber guide movably supported within the mold cavity for maintaining a position of a reinforcing fiber placed within the mold cavity during injection of a molten material into the mold cavity.

Method for forming a fiber-reinforced cable tie

An expandable while-in-use cover includes: a cap having a pair of cap side walls, a first cap end wall, a second cap end wall and a top wall, which define a cap opening and a cap interior; a base having a pair of base side walls, a first base end wall, a second base end wall and a back wall, which define a base opening and a base exterior, wherein the base side walls and base end walls correspond to the cap side walls and cap end walls and wherein the cover is adapted to slidably and/or telescopically receive the base; a first and second prong on the interior of each of the cap side walls near the first and second cap end walls; a first and second slotted track on the exterior of each of the base side walls near the base end walls, wherein the first slotted track of each base side wall is adapted to receive the first prong of each cap side wall and the second slotted track of each base side wall is adapted to receive the second prong of each cap side wall; and an aperture in the back wall for accessing an electrical device.

Extendable while-in-use cover

A one piece integrally formed liquid tight connection or 'whip' assembly for electrically interconnecting electrical appliances, such as air conditioning units, hot tubs, swimming pools and outdoor lighting fixtures, to one another and/or to a power source junction box or control box. The connection assembly includes a flexible tubular conduit, preferably constructed from a composite of full rigid PVC and flexible plasticized PVC, having first and second end portions and an outer surface with a plurality of surface irregularities. A pair of end fittings are integrally attached to the first and second end portions of the tubular conduit, respectively, using either a solvent welding or temperature welding technique. When using the solvent technique, the plurality of surface irregularities operate to hold additional localized amounts of solvent which further reacts with the plastic in the end fittings and conduit to yield a superior weld. Each of end fitting also includes an external annular seal ring for engaging the electrical devices. A plurality of conductors extend through the tubular conduit and end fittings which provide electrical communication between the electrical devices.

Integrally formed whip assembly for electrically interconnecting

An electrical outlet box assembly including an outlet box and a lid. The outlet box generally includes a base, an outer wall parametrically bounding the base and extending upwardly therefrom forming a box interior, the outer wall having an upper and lower end, the upper end forming a lip which defines an opening to the box interior. The assembly further includes a lid. The lid has a closed position such that when the lid is in the closed position the opening to the box interior is partially covered forming a receptacle opening having a size substantially similar to an opening of a standard size outlet box. The lid further includes an open position such that when the lid is in the open position, the opening to the box interior is entirely uncovered thereby permitting unrestricted access into the outlet box interior.

Electrical outlet box assembly

An electrical junction box assembly for accommodating an electrical cable inserted therein. The assembly includes a junction box and a cable clamp. The junction box includes a back wall and a side wall which perimetrically extends from the back wall to define an open end opposite the back wall. The junction box further includes a cable entry opening in the side wall for permitting insertion of the cable thereinto. The back wall further includes a cable clamp mount positioned adjacent the cable entry opening. The cable clamp mount has a clamp insertion surface positioned substantially orthogonal to the cable entry opening. The clamp insertion surface defines a cable clamp insertion aperture into which the cable clamp is manually removably insertable. The cable clamp includes a deflectable cable engagement arm spaced adjacent from the cable entry opening of the side wall of the junction box. The deflectable cable engagement arm resiliently supports the cable inserted through the cable entry opening against that side wall of the box defining the cable entry opening through which the cable is inserted.
