A temporary sealed double-door junction device, for temporarily communicating a controlled-environment chamber with a controlled-environment removable container having a flexible wall, includes a female flange normally blocked by a female door, forming an assembly for the chamber, and a male flange normally blocked by a male door, forming an assembly for the container, wherein the male flange is to be sealingly coupled to the female flange, and the male door is to be sealingly coupled to the female door and to pass through the female flange. A shaft passes through the male door at a central portion thereof, wherein, on the side of the surface to be joined with the female door, an impeller having at least two blades is mounted by rigid attachment onto the shaft, and on the side of the opposite surface, a crank having at least two arms is mounted by rigid attachment onto the shaft.

A lockable safety shield assembly for a prefillable syringe is provided. The design of the lockable safety shield assembly enhances pharmaceutical manufacturers' ease of assembling the various components as part of its filling or processing of the prefillable syringes in normal practice, while at the same time minimizes difficulties in mating parts made from different materials. A tube is placed around the outside surface of the syringe barrel and affixed thereto. A collar is provided on the tube adjacent the distal end of the syringe barrel. A safety shield is axially slidable over the tube between a retracted position, wherein the distal end of the piercing element associated with the prefillable syringe is exposed, and an extended position, wherein the safety shield is locked to the collar to protectively cover the distal end of the piercing element. The safety shield includes locking structure configured so that the shield can be easily fitted over the tube. The locking structure includes at least one deflectable arm provided on the body of the shield. The deflectable arm includes a proximal end deflectable towards the interior of the shield. A stop member is provided on the interior of a shield in spaced relation to the proximal end of the deflectable arm. A ring is axially slidable over the shield to deflect the arm towards the interior of the shield to activate the locking structure. The safety shield is slid distally by an end user such that the collar is lockingly retained between the stop member and the proximal end of the deflectable arm. The collar, the stop member, and the deflectable arm may be configured to provide tactile as well as audible indication of locking to the end user.

Lockable safety shield assembly for a prefillable syringe

Device for communicating two chambers, while maintaining tightness

A tip cap assembly is provided for positive sealing engagement with the tip of a syringe barrel of a syringe. The tip cap assembly includes an inner cap formed from an elastomeric material dimensioned for sealing engagement with the tip of the syringe barrel. The tip cap assembly further includes an outer cap engaged with the inner cap, and a collar for mounting the tip cap assembly to the syringe barrel. In addition, the outer cap includes a plurality of frangible portions for evidencing tampering and for connecting the outer cap to the collar.

Syringe and tip cap assembly

A tip cap is provided for positive sealing engagement with the tip of a syringe barrel. The tip cap includes an inner cap formed from an elastomeric material dimensioned for sealing engagement with the tip of the syringe barrel. The tip cap further includes an outer cap engaged with the inner cap to limit or prevent both axial movement and rotational movement therebetween. The outer cap includes an array of threads for threaded engagement with a luer collar. The luer collar may be a separate component mountable to a syringe barrel or an integral part of the syringe barrel.

Syringe tip cap

An assembly for administering preset doses of medication is provided. The assembly includes a syringe holder and a pre-filled syringe which is mounted to the holder. The syringe includes a barrel for containing medication, a movable plunger including a piston within the barrel, and a blunt end having an opening through which the medication within the barrel can be expelled. The syringe holder includes a body portion and a movable stop which is engageable with the plunger of the syringe. The stop engages the plunger once it has been moved sufficiently to deliver a desired amount of medication from the barrel for example. The user then disengages the stop from the plunger, allowing the remaining medication to be administered. One application is to a nasal syringe, where approximately equal doses of medication are desired to be administered to each nostril of the patient.

Syringe holder with integral dose divider

A syringe assembly having needle isolation features includes an elongate barrel having an open proximal end, a chamber for retaining fluid and a tip portion extending from a distal end of the barrel having a passageway therethrough include communication with the chamber. A valve housing extends outwardly from the tip portion of the barrel having a conduit therethrough in communication with the passageway. A needle cannula having a proximal end, a distal end and a lumen therethrough is provided. The proximal end of the needle is connected to the housing so that the lumen is in fluid communication with the conduit. The housing includes internal valve for allowing liquid under pressure in the chamber to flow distally through the conduit and the lumen while preventing unpressurized liquid in the chamber from flowing through the aperture. The internal valve includes a one-way valve structure for preventing liquid flow through the conduit in a proximal direction toward the chamber.

Syringe needle isolation device

A lockable safety shield for a prefillable syringe is provided. The design of the lockable safety shield enhances pharmaceutical manufacturers' ease of assembling the various components as part of its filling or processing of the prefillable syringes in normal practice. A collar is attachable to the distal hub of the prefillable syringe. A safety shield is axially slidable over the collar between a retracted position, wherein the distal end of the piercing element associated with the prefillable syringe is exposed, and an extended position, wherein the safety shield is locked to the collar to protectively cover the distal end of the piercing element. The safety shield includes locking structure configured so that the shield, as supplied to the pharmaceutical manufacturer, can be easily fitted to the syringe. The locking structure includes at least one deflectable arm provided on the body of the shield. The deflectable arm includes a proximal end deflectable towards the interior of the shield. A stop member is provided on the interior of a shield in spaced relation to the proximal end of the deflectable arm. A ring is axially slidable over the shield to deflect the arm towards the interior of the shield to activate the locking structure. The safety shield is slid distally by an end user such that the collar is lockingly retained between the stop member and the proximal end of the deflectable arm. The collar, the stop member, and the deflectable arm may be configured to provide tactile as well as audible indication of locking to the end user.
