In systems and methods for analyzing traces of airborne compounds, the air to be analyzed is circulated for a given length of time through a small-diameter analysis tube while lowering the temperature of the air at the entrance to the analysis tube. Condensation and deposits of compounds are formed on the inner walls of the analysis tube. A scraping liquid is circulated through the analysis tube to scrape off the deposits. The compounds in the deposits are concentrated at the front of this liquid. The front of the liquid is then analyzed to identify the compounds.

Methods and systems for analyzing airborne compounds

An optical device () includes a cavity () for which at least part is ellipsoidal with a first focus (F) and a second focus (F). The device includes means of presenting a medium containing components to be analyzed in the cavity at the first focus, and the device also includes means of transporting an excitation light beam in the cavity along a path also passing through the first focus (F) to illuminate the medium at the first focus. At the end of the laying tube 30 there is disposed a laying head 32 which is displaced transversely along the support 1 on which the reinforcement is built. The angle of laying of the cord is adjusted by judiciously coordinating the transverse speed of displacement of the head 32 and the speed of rotation of the support 1.

The tire reinforcements are made from a single cord, a section (40) of which is advanced over a rigid core (2) until at least its central portion is opposite its final position on the support, whereupon folders (5) apply the section (40) radially against the core (2) by means of tappets (50) which act on the length (40) in the manner of a finger. The repetition of the same cycle as many times as there are lengths of cord in the reinforcement makes it possible to produce the complete reinforcement.

The reinforcements for tires are made from a single cord (4) laid by a laying head (3A) which describes a path of any type surrounding the rigid core (2) which constitutes a rigid support on which the tire is progressively built. Between two successive passes of the laying head (3A), the rigid core (2) turns by an amount corresponding to the laying pitch.

A process for producing a tire reinforcement is characterized by the fact that each reinforcement cord is projected individually into its place in the reinforcement. For this purpose, a machine is used which comprises laying members comprising essentially a rotary conduit which projects the cord by a radially outer extremity of the conduit and rollers which impose a linear speed of laying of the cord.
