A flexible joint to ensure static imperviousness between one external medium and one internal medium, and dynamic imperviousness between the two portions of the internal medium. The joint includes a central core in the form of a spring surrounded by three casings, the second casing, with the aid of a jacket of overlapping surfaces ensures the dynamic imperviousness between the mobile element and the fixed element. The external casing ensures static imperviousness between the two portions of the fixed element.

So as to embody an assembly whose imperviousness is obtained with slight gripping power and may be kept at high pressure and at a high temperature, the invention concerns proposing a gasket or joint which includes an elastic metal core with a circular section and at least one external casing made of a hard metal. The casing comes and takes support on the flanges of the assembly by projecting parts with a triangular section and having an annular surface in contact with the flanges whose width is at the most equal to about 0.05 mm once the gripping power has been applied.

The device makes it possible to connect tightly first and second parts having a flange and locking or tightening means for the said flanges. The tightening or locking force applied to the locking of tightening means is multiplied in order to increase the compression force applied to a gasket or joint. Each flange has a conical surface of axis D and angle .lambda.. The device has two clips, each of which has a conical surface of axis D and angle .mu., as well as an intermediate member in the form of a ring constituted by several interconnected segments and having an inner surface and an outer surface. Each inner peripheral surface has a conical surface of axis D and angle .lambda. able to cooperate with the conical surface of axis D and angle .lambda. of the first and second parts. Each outer peripheral surface has a conical surface of axis D and angle .mu. able to cooperate with the conical surfaces of angle .mu. of the clips.

Tight connection device

A device for the tight connection of a first part to a second part in a direction D. It comprises a first member having a first conical surface of axis D and angle .lambda., a second member having a second conical surface of axis D and angle .mu. and a third member having a third planar surface perpendicular to axis D at least one intermediate member, at least one of the three members being connected to the first or second part. The device also has means for bringing together the first and second members.

Remotely disassemblable connection device

This invention relates to a tight connection device comprising a flexible metal joint. The joint, located in two trapezoidal grooves formed in two flanges, has in the rest condition an oval section, whereof one of the axes of symmetry is located in the plane of symmetry of the joints. The joint is in tight contact with the sides of the groove in four zones and, after securing the tie rods, is in contact with the bottom of the grooves in two zones.

The invention relates to a flexible metal joint in which two envelopes surrounding a metal core. The joint has, along its periphery which does not have an opening, at least two bosses, at which the envelope is not in contact with the joint core. A relative displacement between the flanges of the assembly between which the joint is secured consequently has no effect on the efficiency thereof.

Flexible metallic joint

A flexible metal sealing joint comprising an elastic metal core which, in the rest position, is shaped like a torus, as well as at least one outer envelope made from a ductile material. Within its thickness, the outer envelope has two substantially planar bearing surfaces and at least one projecting portion with a substantially triangular cross-section formed on each of the bearing surfaces. The dimensions of the projecting portions are such that said portions are expendable, i.e. they disappear at the end of fixing.

The invention relates to a device for the tight joining of two parts comprising tightening means of the screw-nut type compressing a gasket between the two parts. A compression part and an elastic O-ring constituted by an internal spring with contiguous turns, which is closed on itself and fitted into at least one envelope are placed between the tightening means and one of the parts in order to permit the tightening of the assembly by an auxiliary system, followed by the tensioning of the tightening means by elastic restoration of the ring after fitting tightening means and slackening or releasing the auxiliary system. Application to the joining of two pipes and to the sealing of a container by means of a plug.

Pipe coupling comprising two flanges which can be fixed to the ends of the ipes and clamping means which bear on the flanges to sealingly connect the same, wherein the clamping means comprise an extensible member located between the flanges and defining a passage providing a communication between the pipes and at least one movable member controlling the elongation of the extensible member to make it sealingly bear against the flanges, the movable member bearing on the rear face of the flanges to prevent the moving apart thereof during the elongation of the extensible member.

Flexible joint with two sealing lines having curvilinear portions, wherein it comprises two closed elementary joints of different length, whose axes are arranged in the same plane, joined together by a shaping template which cooperates at least with the outer joint by excrescences arranged on the outer periphery of the template and defining between them recesses at least level with the curvilinear portions of the joint, each excrescence having a groove in which is received the outer joint, each of the joints having an inner spring with contiguous turns closed on itself and at least one metal casing in which is fitted the spring. The invention more particularly relates to the construction of non-circular joints.

Pipe coupling of the type comprising two end fittings which can be fixed to two parts of the circuit to be connected and an open collar constituted by a plurality of articulated elements, with which are associated tensioning means, said elements cooperating with the end fittings to bring the latter into tightly sealed contact during the utilization of the tensioning means, wherein the collar has at least one C-shaped spring connecting each of the articulated elements and giving the collar a semi-rigid structure, there being a clearance in a direction longitudinal with respect to the spring between the latter and each of the articulated elements in order to prevent the transmission of the tightening forces to the spring.

The present invention relates to a self-locking union or fitting adapted to be placed between two parts of a circuit to be connected, of the type comprising two end pieces adapted to be fixed to two parts of the circuit to be connected, two half-shells having internal truncated surfaces engaging complementary external truncated surfaces formed on the end pieces, to urge the latter into tight contact when the two half-shells are urged radially towards each other, wherein automatic locking means are disposed on the sides of the two half-shells, each of the half-shells being made fast with one of the end pieces by connecting means allowing a radial displacement of the half-shell with respect to the corresponding end piece, while maintaining the axis of the end piece parallel to that of the half-shell. The invention also relates to a tool particularly adapted to tighten a union or fitting of this type.

Self-locking union

Metalloplastic flexible annular joint, wherein it comprises a first metal ring constituted by an inner metal spring with contiguous turns closed on itself and surrounding said spring, at least one metal envelope in which is embedded the spring, said envelope being extended by two parallel planar faces which extend in a transverse equatorial plane of symmetry of the joint, said faces having flared extensions moving away from said plane at a predetermined distance from the spring to partly surround a second solid elastomer plastic ring which is coaxial to the spring in such a way as to create between the two rings a sealed enclosure of limited volume which can be used for controlling the sealing of the joint.

Composite flexible joint

Flexible annular joint having on the one hand a central core constituted by a helical spring made from metal wire with contiguous coils, which is closed on itself and in the inoperative state has the shape of a continuous ring, and on the other hand at least one envelope surrounding the central core and having in the inoperative state a cross-section formed by a curve which is not closed on itself. The internal helical spring comprises at least one continuous wire whose cross-section is a circular segment whose angle at the center is between 180.degree. and 360.degree., the chord of said segment producing the outer surface of said spring.
