A filter device used to filter medical anesthesia gases and other inhalable respiratory gases. The filter device has a ported housing, and a filter member within the housing. The filter member is a porous sheet that is transversely pleated and draped to define a peripheral foot of such porous sheet. The peripheral foot is sealed along its entire periphery to the housing. Two sets of intermeshing hangers are provided with both sets of the hangers being anchored to the housing and distortingly maintaining the porous sheet in such a pleated condition.

Filter drive

A system for continuously administering parenteral liquid, such as normal saline, to a patient while blood pressure fluctuations are continuously monitored. The system includes a flushing valve with a manually squeezable and distortable elastic tube surrounding a flow restrictor. The flushing valve is connected through a flexible tube segment to a T-connector of the system to provide for convenient one hand flexible operation. The flushing valve, flexible tube segment, and T-connector are joined as a unit for assembling into the system.

System for flushing a medical fluid

A urine collection bag with a folded over top sealed to a stiffening panel in a generally horizontal plane. This panel shapes the folded bag top to define a ventable gas pocket immediately below the panel. The panel has a handle flexibly connected to it for suspending the bag with its gas pocket upright. The bag construction also discloses an inverted J-shaped opaque wall structure sealed to a transparent wall.

An improved oxygen mask, particularly useful for treating patients requiring inhalation therapy, wherein the extent of oxygen dilution with room air may be selectively controlled to provide different predetermined oxygen concentrations. The diluter is interposed in the line between the inlet hose of the mask and the oxygen supply tube and essentially comprises two closely-fitting parts: a tapered tubular body which houses an integral ejector nozzle, and a tapered tubular sleeve which is fitted upon the body for rotational movement into any of a plurality of selected positions but is securely locked against axial movement upon that body. The parts have apertures which are moved into or out of alignment as the sleeve is rotated into different angular positions of adjustment. An aerosol adapter may be removably mounted upon a projecting end portion of the body for directing vapors towards the inlet apertures of the diluter.
