An elevator assembly for use with a projection device is provided. In one embodiment, the elevator assembly may include a foot extension configured to contact a reference surface, and a substantially planar one-piece bracket configured to support the foot extension and slidibly couple the foot extension with a housing of the projection device, wherein the bracket enables the foot extension to extend and refract relative to the housing of the projection device. In some embodiments, the bracket may be configured to slidably couple the foot extension with the housing via a snap fit connection.

Elevator assembly for a projection device

A projection device is provided, wherein the projection device includes a digital micromirror device, a circuit board that further includes a first face and a second face, an integrated heat sink/stiffener; and a plurality of engagement mechanisms, wherein the plurality of engagement mechanisms is adapted to operatively couple the digital micromirror device to the first face of the circuit board and to secure the integrated heat sink/stiffener to the second face of the circuit board; and wherein the integrated heat sink/stiffener is adapted to provide structural support to the circuit board and to draw thermal energy away from the digital micromirror device.

A projection device is disclosed, wherein the projection device includes a first circuit board, a second circuit board positioned in a spaced-apart relation to the first circuit board, a first connector extending from the first circuit board generally linearly toward the second circuit board, and a second connector extending from the second circuit board generally linearly toward the first circuit board, wherein the first connector and the second connector are coupled together to form an electrically conductive pathway between the first circuit board and the second circuit board.

An elevator assembly for use with a projection device is provided. In one embodiment, the elevator assembly may include a foot extension configured to contact a reference surface, and a one-piece substantially planar bracket configured to support the foot extension and slidably couple the foot extension with a housing of the projection device, wherein the bracket enables the foot extension to extend and retract relative to the housing of the projection device. In some embodiments, the bracket may be configured to slidably couple the foot extension with the housing via a snap fit connection.

An air vent apparatus for blocking light is provided for devices requiring a light source for generating light, such as a presentation projector, an arc lamp, a laser device and the like. The improved air vent apparatus employs a stacked chevron design to minimize the restriction of the flow of air through the air vent while blocking the escape of direct light. In one embodiment of the present invention, the stacked chevron is symmetrically disposed in the air vent housing of the device. In another embodiment of the present invention, the stacked chevron is asymmetrically disposed in the air vent housing so that a vane of the chevron extending towards the interior of the air vent is substantially perpendicular to the air vent housing and substantially parallel to the source of the flow of air. The use of a stacked chevron design allows the air vent in the device housing be constructed with vanes having a range of shallower angles than those of prior art vents so as to minimize the restriction of the flow of air through the vent, while at the same time blocking all or nearly all of the direct light emitted from the device's light source. Numerous variations in the length of the vanes of the chevron (i.e. the depth of the air vent), the vane angle, and the pitch (i.e. the distance between the stacked chevrons) may be employed to achieve a suitably optimal vent for a number of different devices, including presentation projectors, arc lamps, laser devices and the like.

Air vent apparatus for blocking light

A mounting connection for a projection lens barrel in an image projection system is provided that includes a housing having an integral mounting portion for the projection lens barrel. The mounting portion has integral guide members formed thereon that cooperate with helical guide slots formed in an end of the projection lens barrel. A collet located between the projection lens barrel and the housing mounting portion is movable between a first position in which the collet frictionally engages the mounting portion to hold the projection lens barrel held stationary and a second position in which the collet is free of engagement with the mounting portion so that the projection lens barrel is free to be rotated to advance and retract to an adjusted position.
