Methods and systems for securely transferring assets via a cloud-based clipboard are provided. In an embodiment, input is indicating an asset is received from an input device at a computing device, which transmits to asset to cloud-based storage. The method stores a reference to a storage location of the asset in the cloud-based storage in the input device. The method receives, from the input device, a request for the asset at a second computing device, the request indicating the reference. The requested asset is retrieved from the cloud-based storage and rendered on the second computing device. The asset can be encrypted prior to transmission to the cloud-based storage and a decryption key for the asset is stored in the input device. In response to a request, the encrypted asset is retrieved and provided to a second computing device, where the asset is decrypted using the key from the input device.

Secure cloud-based clipboard for touch devices

A method identifies a wireless device in a list of available devices to be a preferred device based on comparing activity levels of devices in the list, the activity levels determined based on prior connections of the available devices to the computing device. The method waits a predetermined time period for a connection from the preferred device and restricts connections to other devices in the list during the period. Another method initially designates a first device in a list of available wireless devices as a preferred wireless device. For each other available device in the list, the method: retrieves properties including an activity level; calculates a recheck timeout based on the properties; and in response to determining that the device's activity level exceeds that of the previously-designated preferred device, designates the device as the preferred device. After the recheck timeout of the preferred device expires, the preferred device is connected.

Automated connection to a preferred wireless device

A method and system for delivering product updates is provided. An example system comprises an update monitor and an update delivery manager. The update monitor may be configured to detect that a version of a product installed on a host computer is different from a latest version of the product. The an update delivery manager to obtain a manifest-specific URL template, collect product-specific information for the product installed on the host computer system, populate the manifest-specific URL template with product-specific information for the product installed on the host computer to generate a manifest-specific URL, and download, using the manifest-specific URL, a manifest that describes a sequence of steps for updating a version of the product to the latest version of the product.

Method and system for delivering product updates

Various embodiments described herein include systems, methods, software, and data structures of and for authoring and presentation of package files. Some such embodiments include instantiating a package file and receiving a presentation specification to include in the package file, the presentation specification displayable within a media playing application to provide a representation of display elements defined in the package file. Such embodiments may further include receiving content files, defining display elements for each content file, and associating each content file with a respective display element. A package file may then be generated, published, and/or displayed as a function of the presentation specification.
