Methods and uses for controlling non-crop pests (especially of the orders Blattodea, Diptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera, Isoptera, Orthoptera) and/or populations of social insects and non-social solitary or gregarious insects, especially ants, wasps, termites and cockroaches, with a carboxamide compound and its mixtures, and compositions comprising it, are disclosed.

Multipurpose ant bait

A camouflaged termite-monitoring device is provided. Such a device comprises a housing () which defines a cavity () and an opening (). A perforated bait cartridge () is disposed within the cavity and contains a bait material () adapted to be attractive to termites. A mesh-like member () is operably engaged with the housing so as to cover the opening and to retain the bait cartridge in the cavity. The mesh-like member is further adapted to allow termites to pass therethrough into the cavity and the bait cartridge and to infiltrate the housing. An inspection hatch () is operably engaged with the housing and is configured to allow visual inspection of the bait cartridge within the cavity from outside the housing. Such a visual inspection is performed without removing the housing from engagement with the upper ground surface. An associated method is also provided.

Termite-monitoring device and associated method

A lignocellulosic composite material and a method for preparing the lignocellulosic composite material are disclosed. The composite material is formed from lignocellulosic particles and a binder resin. The binder resin comprises a polyisocyanate, at least one of insecticide and/or fungicide that are dispersed throughout the polyisocyanate. The insecticide and/or fungicide is also dispersed throughout the lignocellulosic particles. Since the insecticide and/or fungicide is dispersed throughout the composite material, the composite material is insect resistant and is able to withstand insect attacks and prevent fungus growth and decay.

A termite bait station for installation in the ground includes a tubular outer housing and a tubular inner bait cartridge inserted into the housing, each having circumferentially elongate apertures therethrough to allow termites to access bait in the cartridge. Each aperture in the cartridge is disposed between a pair of spaced, parallel ribs that extend in the circumferential direction. The ribs reduce the radial gap that must be traversed by a termite passing from the outer housing to the bait cartridge. The ribs also form circumferentially extending channels for producing a channeling effect tending to lead termites into the apertures in the cartridge.
