Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system, and computer program product for automatically assigning a display as a primary display in a multi-display computer. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for configuring a primary display in a multi-display environment is provided and can include tracking eye movements of an end user interacting with a multi-display computer. A display principally viewed by the end user, can be identified based upon the eye movements amongst at least two displays of the multi-display computing environment. Thereafter, the identified display can be configured as a primary display in the multi-display computing environment in response to determining that the end user has viewed the identified display for a threshold period of time.

A method, system and computer program for processing invalid data. Data is received at a shared component for processing. A shared component is a component that is capable of being shared by multiple entities. The shared component has a plurality of threads. An attempt is made to process the data using one of the threads from the plurality of threads. The data is invalid and therefore the attempt at processing the invalid data results in the shared component and its plurality of threads failing. In response to the failure of the shared component, at least two instances of the shared component are created. At least one thread is assigned to each component instance, where the number of threads assigned to each component instance is restricted to a maximum number that is less than the original number of the plurality of threads.

Method, apparatus and computer program for processing invalid data

A method and system detect a failed communication transmission that fails to reach a recipient after attempting to be transmitted from a sender to the recipient over a communication path. Upon detection of the failed communication, the method initiates a first inquiry process from the sender. This first inquiry process tests how far a first test communication transmission can travel from the sender to the recipient along the communication path. Similarly, upon detection of the failed communication, the method initiates a second inquiry process from the recipient. The second inquiry process tests how far a second test communication transmission can travel from the recipient to the sender along the communication path. The method combines the results of the first inquiry process and the results of the second inquiry process to determine which of the nodes in the communication path are not successfully forwarding test communications to identify at least one possibly faulty node. The identification of the possibly faulty node is then output to the sender and the recipient.
