The invention is a method for determining an amount of hydrogen sulfide produced by aquathermolysis induced by a thermal process, such as steam injection. The hydrocarbons are described with a compositional representation using HS and the fractions saturated compounds, aromatics, resins and asphaltenes. A kinetic model is constructed based on the compositional representation using an elementary model obtained by mass balance for sulfur distributed within the fractions. A thermodynamic model is constructed based on the same compositional representation. The amount of produced HS is determined by performing a compositional reservoir simulation using a compositional and reactive thermal simulator using the kinetic and thermodynamic models.

A lumping and delumping method is useful for estimating the properties or behavior of liquid and/or vapor hydrocarbon phases from data relative to a reference set of hydrocarbon mixtures in a series of thermodynamic states in a medium. Each one of the hydrocarbon mixtures is grouped into at least three constituents (V, I, H), considering that the gas phases resulting from separation under conditions referred to as surface conditions of each mixture do not contain (H) and that the oil phases do not contain (V). The compositions of the separation products are determined by material balance. The at least three-constituent composition of each hydrocarbon mixture is determined by combination of the products resulting from the separation in proportion to the amounts of each separation product. Delumping is performed to predict a detailed composition of a fluid in the medium.

Lumping and delumping method for describing hydrocarbon-containing fluids

Method using &#x3c;&#x3c;Black Oil&#x3e;&#x3e; type modelling for predicting, as a function of time, the detailed composition of fluids produced by an underground reservoir under production, combined with a delumping stage allowing detailed thermodynamic representation of the reservoir fluids. The input data entered for the model are the thermodynamic parameters of the fluids such as viscosity, volume factor, density, gas-oil dissolution ratio, etc. (in form of charts, and/or by correlation, as a function of the pressure, of the temperature if it varies) and, if need be, an additional parameter keeping a memory of the composition of the gas such as, for example, the density of the gas), as well as data relative to the variations, as a function of the same &#x3c;&#x3c;abscissas&#x3e;&#x3e;, of the phase parameters required for delumping, without the latter being used during the &#x3c;&#x3c;Black Oil&#x3e;&#x3e; simulation of the flows. Application: predictive profiles of the detailed composition of hydrocarbons produced by a reservoir for example.
