Embodiments include methods for a network node to activate semi-persistent sounding reference signal (SP-SRS) resources for transmission by a user equipment (UE). Such methods include sending, to the UE, a control message comprising configuration of a set of SP-SRS resources associated with a particular serving cell of the wireless communication network. Such methods include sending to the UE a further control message for activating the configured set of SP-SRS resources. The further control message includes information identifying an SP-SRS resource of the set of SP-SRS resources to be activated, and an indication of the identified SP-SRS resource's spatial relation with a further resource that is not associated with the particular serving cell. The indication comprising an identity of a further serving cell that is different from the particular serving cell and that is associated with the further resource. Other embodiments include complementary methods for a UE.

Cross-carrier spatial relation indication for semi-persistent sounding reference signal (SP-SRS) resources

Indication of Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) states for aperiodic Channel State Information-Reference Signal (CSI-RS) with low configuration overhead is provided. More specifically, methods performed by a wireless device(s) and a base station(s) for indicating a configuration parameter(s) for triggering aperiodic CSI-RS are provided. The methods disclosed herein make it possible for triggering aperiodic CSI-RS with multiple options (e.g., any of indicated TCI states and/or Quasi Co-Located relationships). As a result, it is possible to significantly reduce configuration overhead related to indicating aperiodic CSI-RS.

Network architecture, methods, and devices for a wireless communications network

Systems and methods for implicitly activating one or more Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) states are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless communication device for implicit TCI state activation includes sending a measurement report for one or more reference signals to a base station. The one or more reference signals are related to one or more TCI states, respectively. The method further includes activating at least one TCI state from among the one or more TCI states that are related to the one or more reference signals. In this way, the TCI state selection may be expedited and simplified because additional Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) activation message may be avoided.

Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment (UE), for receiving reference signals (RS) in a wireless network. Such methods include receiving, from a network node in the wireless network, a configuration for connected-state RS transmitted by the network node. In some embodiments, the connected-state RS can be periodic channel state information RS (CSI-RS) or periodic tracking RS (TRS). Such methods include, while the UE is in a non-connected state and based on the received configuration, determining that the connected-state RS are available during one or more first occasions. Such methods include, while the UE is in the non-connected state, selectively receiving the connected-state RS during the first occasions. A method performed by a User Equipment, UE is provided. The UE receives from a network node, a higher layer configuration comprising a set of SpCell configurations, to be configured in the UE. While being in connected state, the UE receives a lower layer signaling from a network node. The lower layer signaling comprises an indication. A first information element IE is provided including an indication of an added synchronization signal block/physical cell identity SSB/PCI.
