Systems and methods for implicitly activating one or more Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) states are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless communication device for implicit TCI state activation includes sending a measurement report for one or more reference signals to a base station. The one or more reference signals are related to one or more TCI states, respectively. The method further includes activating at least one TCI state from among the one or more TCI states that are related to the one or more reference signals. In this way, the TCI state selection may be expedited and simplified because additional Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) activation message may be avoided.

Scrambling of physical channels and reference signals in wireless communication networks

Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment (UE), for receiving reference signals (RS) in a wireless network. Such methods include receiving, from a network node in the wireless network, a configuration for connected-state RS transmitted by the network node. In some embodiments, the connected-state RS can be periodic channel state information RS (CSI-RS) or periodic tracking RS (TRS). Such methods include, while the UE is in a non-connected state and based on the received configuration, determining that the connected-state RS are available during one or more first occasions. Such methods include, while the UE is in the non-connected state, selectively receiving the connected-state RS during the first occasions. Other embodiments include complementary methods performed by a network node, as well as UEs and network nodes configured to perform such methods.

A method performed by a User Equipment, UE is provided. The UE receives from a network node, a higher layer configuration comprising a set of SpCell configurations, to be configured in the UE. While being in connected state, the UE receives a lower layer signaling from a network node. The lower layer signaling comprises an indication. According to some embodiments, a method of operating a network node is provided. A first information element IE is provided including an indication of an added synchronization signal block/physical cell identity SSB/PCI. Beamforming assistance

An access node transmits, in a downlink signal having a series of subframes, a beam-formed reference signal in subframes, where the beam-formed reference signals are transmitted in fewer than all of the subframes of the downlink signal. A first subset includes beam-formed reference signals corresponding to a first frequency or first localized range of frequencies, and a second subset includes beam-formed reference signals corresponding to a second frequency or second localized range of frequencies. Enhancements to mobility reference signals for radio link monitoring in a beam-based system

According to a first aspect of embodiments herein, the object is achieved by a method performed by a User Equipment (UE) for monitoring a beam transmitted by a base station in a radio communications network. The base station is serving the UE. The UE monitors a reference signal related to the beam, from the base station. Each time a quality of the reference signal is below a first threshold, the UE generates an Out-Of-Synchronization (OOS) event. When the number of OOS events reaches an OOS Beam Failure Detection (BFD) threshold, the UE triggers a beam recovery preparation procedure, and when the number of OOS events reaches an OOS Radio Link Monitoring (RLM), threshold, the UE starts an RLF timer.
