A power cable assembly device adapted to be arranged in the spaces between neighboring power cores of a power cable, includes an extruded profiled body made of a polymer material and adapted to the cross-sectional shape and elongation of the power cable, the profiled body including a chamber and defining a slit to the chamber, the chamber being adapted to receive a fiber optic cable via the slit. Substantially the whole surface of the profiled body inside the chamber, the surface of the profiled body defining the slit, and the surface of at least a region outside the profiled body extending from the slit and away from the slit is provided with a layer of semi-conductive material.

Power cable assembly device and a power cable provided with such a device

An electric power sea cable including at least one cable core. The cable core includes an electric conductor, an electric insulation surrounding the conductor, and a protective sheath surrounding the electric insulation and acting as a water barrier. At least one outer layer surrounds the at least one cable core. The protective sheath is made of metal and the electrical power sea cable includes at least one friction reducing layer surrounding the at least one cable core and arranged inside of the at least one outer layer.

Electric power cable

An electric power cable including at least one electric conductor. An electric insulation surround the conductor and includes a polymer. A tubular protective sheath surrounds the electric insulation and acts as a water barrier that prevents water intrusion into the electric insulation. The protective sheath includes a metal as a main constituent. The cable includes at least one density-raising element of a material of higher density than the material of the protective sheath, in order to increase the density of the cable such that too large motions thereof are prevented when the latter is installed in open sea.

A cable joint for jointing two cable ends of an optical fiber cable of an optical fiber composite electric power cable including an electric power cable and an optical fiber cable. The cable joint includes a repair box arranged between the two cable ends of the optical fiber cable. The repair box is arranged within the optical fiber composite electric power cable and further includes storage for storing extra length needed for jointing optical fibers of the optical fiber cable.
