According to a method for determining the capacitance of a capacitive element (), during each measurement cycle of a plurality of successive measurement cycles, the capacitive element () is charged, and then a charge quantity is transferred to a further capacitive element (). After the plurality of measurement cycles, a measurement value relating to the total charge quantity transferred is determined, and the capacitance of the capacitive element () is determined as a function of the measurement value. A first duration is defined for a first subset of the plurality of measurement cycles, and a different second duration is defined for a second subset of the plurality of measurement cycles.

The invention relates to a device for triggering an action on an opening panel of a motor vehicle. The device () comprises in particular: a capacitive sensor (C) for detecting a variation in capacitance, comprising at least three electrodes (E, E, E), said at least three electrodes (E, E, E) forming a detection pattern (M); and a processing unit () connected to the capacitive sensor (C) for processing output signals front the capacitive sensor (C), said output signals being representative of the capacitance of each of the electrodes (E, E, E). The triggering device () is characterised in that: the positioning of the electrodes (E, E, E) is defined such that at least one of the electrodes (E, E, E) is not covered by a hand approaching the detection pattern (M), and the processing unit () is designed to perform a triggering action on the opening panel of the motor vehicle when a band approaches said detection pattern (M).

The present invention relates to a hands-free system (SYS) for accessing a motor vehicle (V). Said system includes: a control member (COM) arranged in the motor vehicle (V); a detection member (CAPT) arranged in a door handle (P) of the motor vehicle (V), said detecting member being connected to said control member (COM) and capable of measuring a signal (S) representing a hand (M) approaching; and a sensitivity level (SEN) for which a corresponding threshold value (TH) is defined.
