Described are biocide compositions, comprising (a) carbamates, (b) biocides and optionally (c) oil components/co-solvents and/or (d) emulsifiers. The compositions have high solubility for biocides and improved emulsification properties.

Biocide compositions comprising carbamates

Described are alkoxylated urethanes. Specifically, the alkoxylated urethanes are non-isocyanate urethanes (NIUs). The non-isocyanate urethanes that are described can be used as low-foam surfactants and, more particularly, as low-foam wetting agents.

Low-foaming surfactants

Disclosed are compounds obtained by reacting (a) epoxides (I) which comprise at least two epoxide groups per molecule, with (b) compounds of the structure (II), having substituents as defined, and (c) optionally, alcohols (III) of the formula R&#x2014;OH, wherein Ris C6-C22 alkyl, with the proviso that the molar ratio of the reactants (I):(II):(III) is in the range from 1:(1 to 3):(0.05 to 1.95). These compounds are useful as thickeners, and may be prepared as thickener concentrates.
