Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to for skipping monitoring of downlink control channel in random access. A first device receives from a second device a command indicating the first device to skip monitoring a downlink control channel between the second device and the first device for a time period. In response to the random access procedure being triggered by a first trigger condition, the first device determines whether the time period overlaps with a time window associated with a random access procedure. The first device ignores or performs the command based on the determination.

Skipping monitoring of downlink control channel during random access procedure

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to selecting random access (RA) mode. In example embodiments. The method comprises obtaining an impact factor associated with RA of a terminal device to a network device, the impact factor indicating at least one of the following: a synchronization status between the terminal device and the network device, a status of a channel between the terminal device and the network device for performing RA, a capability of the terminal device for supporting early data transmission (EDT), a predefined access category of the terminal device, or a RA mode-related indication received from the network device; selecting a RA mode at least in part based on obtained impact factor; and performing RA to the network device with the selected RA mode. In this way, the terminal device may select different RA mode according to different scenario.

Selection of random access mode

Disclosed are devices supporting an enhanced paging procedure for random access or small data transmission. An example UE may include at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code. The at least one memory and the computer program code may be configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the UE to receive a paging message from a network device and transmit a signal to the network device using an UL grant. Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to partial integrity protection in telecommunication systems. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided a solution for implementing partial integrity protection. The terminal device receives configuration of the partial integrity protection and applies the integrity protection on a portion of data packets which are communicated between communication devices. In this way, the communication devices can always provide integrity protection for services, regardless of their bit rate. Thus, security of communication can be improved. It also allows to provide integrity protection with limited impacts to power consumption and overheating.

According to embodiments of the present disclosure, service-based retransmission scheme for uplink in NTN has been proposed, which can support multiple retransmission schemes based on service type for uplink. The network device determines different retransmission schemes based on the QoS requirements of the services. The terminal device selects the retransmission scheme for the service. In this way, the QoS of different service and reliability of MAC CE can be guaranteed.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to dynamic active time trigger in CFRA. A first device receives a random access request from a second device in a discontinuous reception mode. The first device transmits a random access response to the second device. The random access response comprises at least one of: an indicator of an offset between a reception of the random access response and a start of monitoring scheduling information from the first device, or a flag indicating whether the indicator is present in the random access response. The first device transmits the scheduling information to the second device based on the offset.

Dynamic active time trigger in contention free random access

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to beam reporting triggered by data transmission. A first device receives from a second device configuration information concerning at least one candidate beam for serving the first device. The first device determines whether data is available for transmission from the first device to the second device. If the data is available for transmission, the first device selects at least one first reference signal identifying the at least one candidate beam based on the configuration information. The first device transmits information concerning the selected at least one first reference signal to the second device.

Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a solution for determining a contention resolution timer. In an aspect, a first device receives, from a second device, an indication to perform Msg3 transmission. The first device transmits, to the second device, information of the first device for contention resolution. In case a configuration of a 4-step random access channel is unavailable in an active bandwidth part for the first device, the first device determines a duration for monitoring a contention resolution message based on one of: a first configuration of a 2-step random access channel in the active bandwidth part, or a second configuration of a 4-step random access channel in a bandwidth part different from the active bandwidth part. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to for enabling retransmission of an initial transmission of CG-SDT. A first device selects a first configured uplink grant for retransmission of an initial transmission of CG-SDT. A first TBS associated with the first configured uplink grant is comparable to a second TBS associated with a second configured uplink grant for the initial transmission of CG-SDT. The first device performs the retransmission to a second device based on the first configured uplink grant.

Enabling retransmission of initial transmission of the CG-SDT

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, devices, apparatuses, and computer readable medium for small data transmission (SDT). A first device, in response to first data to be transmitted via a SDT corresponding to a first set of resources for a random access procedure and a second set of resources for a configured grant procedure, determine a target resource for at least a part of the first data based on a logical channel restriction on the SDT; and transmit, to a second device, at least the part of the first data on the target resource. In this way, the SDT procedure can be performed with logical channel restrictions, which allows a better isolation of services through specific resource selection. The communication efficiency and network performance can also be improved.
