Example embodiments relate to communication of uplink control information. A method implemented at a terminal device comprises obtaining a plurality of uplink grants available for uplink transmission to a network device, the plurality of uplink grants indicating resources for the uplink transmission; determining prioritization of the plurality of uplink grants in transmission of uplink control information based on a predetermined prioritization policy; and selecting, based on the determined prioritization, an uplink grant from the plurality of uplink grants for transmission of the uplink control information to the network device. In such a way, it is possible to increase a probability of transmission of the uplink control information and/or a probability of improving power efficiency of the terminal device.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media of bearer handling during Mobile Terminated Small Data Transmission (MT-SDT). Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a device, method, apparatus and computer readable storage medium of scheduling request (SR) and random access (RA) triggering for small data transmission (SDT). In example embodiments, a terminal device receives, from a network device, a configuration of one or more configured grant (CG) resources for a SDT procedure and a list of one or more data radio bearers (DRBs) associated with respective logical channels (LCHs) allowed for SDT over at least one of the one or more CG resources. After the terminal device initiates the SDT procedure in an inactive mode, if the terminal determines that a buffer status report (BSR) is triggered, the terminal device determines whether a configuration of a SR mask is to be applied for a LCH configured for SDT.

The first configuration indicates information about at least one candidate beam assigned to the second device. The method includes in accordance with a determination that data on a logical channel is available for transmission, determining, at an apparatus, whether there is pending data available for transmission on one or more further logical channels; and in accordance with a determination that there is pending data available for transmission, determining a set of target scheduling request, SR, configurations available for a SR procedure from a plurality of candidate SR configurations associated with the logical channel and the one or more further logical channels; and performing the SR procedure based on the target SR configuration. In this way, the waste of the SR configurations can be avoided and the SR may be transmitted using the fastest SR opportunity.

Scheduling request management

Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose devices, methods and apparatuses for small data transmission (SDT). A terminal device receives, from a network device, an indication message indicating the terminal device to initiate a mobile terminated SDT (MT-SDT). Moreover, the terminal device indicates an access reason of a connection attempt to the network device based on an operation status of the connection attempt.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, devices, apparatuses, and computer readable medium for small data transmission (SDT). A first device, in response to first data to be transmitted via a SDT corresponding to a first set of resources for a random access procedure and a second set of resources for a configured grant procedure, determine a target resource for at least a part of the first data based on a logical channel restriction on the SDT; and transmit, to a second device, at least the part of the first data on the target resource. In this way, the SDT procedure can be performed with logical channel restrictions, which allows a better isolation of services through specific resource selection. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to for skipping monitoring of downlink control channel in random access. A first device receives from a second device a command indicating the first device to skip monitoring a downlink control channel between the second device and the first device for a time period. In response to the random access procedure being triggered by a first trigger condition, the first device determines whether the time period overlaps with a time window associated with a random access procedure. The first device ignores or performs the command based on the determination.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to selecting random access (RA) mode. In example embodiments. The method comprises obtaining an impact factor associated with RA of a terminal device to a network device, the impact factor indicating at least one of the following: a synchronization status between the terminal device and the network device, a status of a channel between the terminal device and the network device for performing RA, a capability of the terminal device for supporting early data transmission (EDT), a predefined access category of the terminal device, or a RA mode-related indication received from the network device; selecting a RA mode at least in part based on obtained impact factor; and performing RA to the network device with the selected RA mode. In this way, the terminal device may select different RA mode according to different scenario.

Disclosed are devices supporting an enhanced paging procedure for random access or small data transmission. An example UE may include at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code. The at least one memory and the computer program code may be configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the UE to receive a paging message from a network device and transmit a signal to the network device using an UL grant. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided a solution for implementing partial integrity protection. The terminal device receives configuration of the partial integrity protection and applies the integrity protection on a portion of data packets which are communicated between communication devices. In this way, the communication devices can always provide integrity protection for services, regardless of their bit rate. Thus, security of communication can be improved. It also allows to provide integrity protection with limited impacts to power consumption and overheating.

In particular, a group common DCI format is used to indicate an activation/deactivation of the cell off for entering network energy saving mode. DCI in the group common DCI format may include separate bits for a first indication regarding the activation/deactivation of the cell off for entering network energy saving mode and a second indication regarding the activation/deactivation of cell DTX/DRX. Alternatively, the DCI may include common bits for the first and second indications with a flag to indicate which indication.
