Media input audio data corresponding to a media stream and microphone input audio data from at least one microphone may be received. A first level of at least one of a plurality of frequency bands of the media input audio data, as well as a second level of at least one of a plurality of frequency bands of the microphone input audio data, may be determined. Media output audio data and microphone output audio data may be produced by adjusting levels of one or more of the first and second plurality of frequency bands based on the perceived loudness of the microphone input audio data, of the microphone output audio data, of the media output audio data and the media input audio data. One or more processes may be modified upon receipt of a mode-switching indication.

Media-compensated pass-through and mode-switching

Audio signals from microphones of a mobile device are received. Each audio signal is generated by a respective microphone of the microphones. First microphones are selected from among the microphones to generate a front audio signal. Second microphones are selected from among the microphones to generate a back audio signal. A first audio signal portion, which is determined based at least in part on the back audio signal, is removed from the front audio signal to generate a modified front audio signal. A second audio signal portion is removed from the modified front audio signal to generate a left-front audio signal. A third audio signal portion is removed from the modified front audio signal to generate a right-front audio signal.

Sound capture for mobile devices

Audio signals from microphones of a mobile device are received. Each audio signal is generated by a respective microphone of the microphones. First microphones are selected from among the microphones to generate a front audio signal. Second microphones are selected from among the microphones to generate a back audio signal. A first audio signal portion, which is determined based at least in part on the back audio signal, is removed from the front audio signal to generate a modified front audio signal. A second audio signal portion is removed from the modified front audio signal to generate a left-front audio signal. A third audio signal portion is removed from the modified front audio signal to generate aright-front audio signal.

Microphone signals are received from microphones of a computer device. Each microphone signal of the microphone signals is acquired by a respective microphone of the microphones. A previously unselected microphone is selected from the microphones as a reference microphone, which generates a reference microphone signal. An adaptive filter is used to create, based on microphone signals of the microphones other than the reference microphone, predicted microphone signals for the reference microphone. Based on the predicted microphone signals for the reference microphone, an enhanced microphone signal is outputted for the reference microphone. The enhanced microphone signal may be used as microphone signal for the reference microphone in subsequent audio processing operations.

Multi-microphone signal enhancement

A sound processing system operative to measure the level of diffusivity of the sounds present in the input sound signal. The system includes a plurality of input channels for receiving audio signals from an audio scene, the audio scene comprising at least one target sound in the presence of background noise. A diffusivity measurement unit is included so as to be operably coupled to the plurality of input channels to receive the audio signals therefrom and measure a level of diffusivity of the sounds present therein. A leveler unit is operably coupled to the plurality of input channels for receiving the audio signals therefrom and for applying a gain to the audio signals to minimize variations in the audio signal levels. A controller is operably coupled to the diffusivity measurement unit and the leveler unit to control the gain applied to the audio signals by the leveler unit based on the level of diffusivity of the sounds present therein.

Diffusivity based sound processing method and apparatus

Embodiments of sound leveling in multi-channel sound capture system are disclosed. According to a method, a processor converts at least two input sound channels captured via a microphone array into at least two intermediate sound channels. The intermediate sound channels are respectively associated with predetermined directions from the microphone array. The closer to the direction a sound source is, the more the sound source is enhanced in the intermediate sound channel associated with the direction. The processor levels the intermediate sound channels separately. Further, the processor converts the intermediate sound channels subjected to leveling to a predetermined output channel format. Because sound leveling of the intermediate sound channels can be achieved independently of each other, at least some of the deficiencies of the conventional gain regulation can be overcome or mitigated.

Sound leveling in multi-channel sound capture system

Methods and systems employing an internal microphone and an external microphone of a headset to capture own voice content in the presence of noise, extract the own voice content from background noise (by performing noise reduction on the microphone outputs to generate a noise reduced signal indicative of the own voice content), and optionally also perform voice activity detection to identify segments of own voice presence or absence. In some embodiments, the external microphone is employed to capture the own voice content, the internal microphone signal is employed to infer the noise captured by the external microphone, and the inferred noise is subtracted from the external microphone signal to generate the noise reduced signal. Aspects include methods performed by any embodiment of the system, and a system or device configured (e.g., programmed) to perform any embodiment of the method.
