An electronic device includes a communication circuit configured to perform wireless communication, a processor operatively connected to the communication circuit, and a memory operatively connected to the processor, wherein the memory may store instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to receive a first designated message associated with a connection parameter update through the communication circuit from an external electronic device connected via a Bluetooth low energy (BLE) protocol, determine, in response to reception of the first designated message, a designated scheme for the connection parameter update based on an attribute of the external electronic device, determine a time point of an instant based on the determined designated scheme, transmit a second designated message including the determined instant time point to the external electronic device, and update connection parameters.
