Beam failure recovery (BFR) in a multiple Downlink Control Information (mDCI) mode may include receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a Downlink Reference Signal (DL RS) set from a next generation Node B (gNB). The DL RS set may be associated with a link between the UE and the gNB and indicate beam failure detection (BFD) is to be performed for the link. The BFR may further include performing, by the UE, a beam failure detection (BFD) for the link using the DL RS set, and performing, by the UE, a candidate beam detection (CBD) for the link, the CBD determining a candidate beam for the link by determining a beam having a reference signal receiving power (RSRP) that is larger than an RSRP threshold. The BFR may further include transmitting, by the UE, a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) indicating the link to the gNB.

Systems and methods for beam failure recovery for multi-DCI mode

Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing a beam pairing procedure between a transmission UE and a receiver UE. The transmission UE and the receiver UE can configure a set of beam patterns to be used in the beam pairing procedure. The set of beam patterns can include one or more transmission beams of the UE, and one or more receiving beams of the receiver UE. The transmission UE can transmit one or more sidelink reference signals to the receiver UE, and the receiver UE can perform signal strength measurements of the one or more sidelink reference signals. Based on the signal strength measurements, either the transmission UE or the receiver UE can make the selection of the transmission beam and the corresponding receiving beam for the beam pairing procedure.

Mechanisms for user equipment beam pairing on sidelink communication

A method and apparatus configuring default beams are described. In some embodiments, the method of wireless communication at a User Equipment (UE) comprises: receiving, from a base station, configuration information for configuring a default beam for the physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) to use on condition that an offset between reception of downlink control information (DCI) in the scheduling physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and corresponding PDSCH is less than a threshold and at least one Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) states includes spatial receiving parameters for configuring a quasi-co-location; configuring, by the UE, a default beam configuration for the PDSCH based on the configuration information and a monitored control resource set (CORESET) with a lowest CORESET identifier (ID) from among a set of CORESETs in a latest slot in a same bandwidth part (BWP), wherein at least one CORSET of the set of CORESETs includes more than one TCI state; and receiving a transmission using the default beam.

Default beams for PDSCH, CSI-RS, PUCCH and SRS

This disclosure relates to techniques for performing beam failure recovery and receiving control information with improved reliability in a wireless communication system. The techniques may include the use of multiple beams in conjunction with performing beam failure recovery, for example including identifying multiple candidate beams for beam failure recovery. The techniques may also or alternatively include the use of multiple beams to provide repetitions of control information for search space and control resource set index 0.

Techniques described herein may include new and enhanced solutions for several aspects of inter-UE communications. For example, techniques described herein may provide inter-UE coordination techniques for different types of resource sets, sensing operations for inter-UE communication, and how UEs involved in inter-UE communication may be determined. In additional, or alternative, examples, techniques described herein may provide solutions for post-collision schemes, including how certain resource sets may be applied, whether and how to jointly transmit post-collision and pre-collision indications, and how to determine the resources for post-collision indication.

A cell performs simultaneous scheduling for a group of user equipment (UE). The cell associates a radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) with a group of user equipment (UEs), transmits a signal to the group of UEs, the signal scrambled by the RNTI and including control information and performs an operation indicated in the control information.

Embodiments are presented herein of apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform beam failure detection. The UE may establish communication with a base station. The UE may determine one or more beams to perform downlink communication from the base station. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication of a first type of downlink reference signals to perform beam failure detection. The UE may perform signal quality measurements for the one or more beams using the first type of downlink reference signals. The UE may determine beam failure of at least one beam of the one or more beams based on said performing signal quality measurements.

The exemplary embodiments relate to determining that code block group (CBG) based transmissions are enabled, transmitting, via an unlicensed spectrum, configured grants comprising one or more CBG based transmissions and one or more transport block (TB) based transmissions and receiving a downlink feedback information (DFI) downlink control information (DCI) format, wherein the DFI DCI format comprises a hybrid automatic repeating request (HARQ) bitmap corresponding to the TB based transmissions and a HARQ bitmap corresponding to the CBG based transmissions. The exemplary embodiments may be implemented in a computer readable storage medium, a user equipment (UE) or an integrated circuit.

Configured grant based uplink transmissions in wireless communication

A wireless user equipment (UE) device may transmit a random access preamble to a base station, using a physical resource on an uplink signal. After failing to receive an initial transmission of a response message from the base station (BS), the UE device may monitor for one or more retransmissions of the response message. Each of the retransmission may include a corresponding transmission number. As an alternative, each of the retransmissions may be at least partially scrambled using a corresponding Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI). As another alternative, a window for monitoring and RNTI calculation may be extended to include the one or more retransmissions. The successive retransmissions may include the same set of UE-specific payloads, or, a decreasing set of payloads over time as UE devices acknowledge successful receipt of their respective payloads.

A user equipment (UE) is provided to implement a set of transmit power control (TPC) commands during a time domain window (TDW) including multiple physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmissions. The UE can receive a configuration from the base station to configure the UE to support a power control mode and a timeline measurement related to a PUSCH transmission. The UE can receive a set of TPC commands during the TDW, determine whether a TPC command of the set of TPC commands satisfies a time constraint based on the timeline measurement, determine an effective TPC command for the set of TPC commands based on one or more TPC commands satisfying the time constraint, determine an effective delay for the effective TPC command based on the timeline measurement, and further apply the effective TPC command to a PUSCH transmission determined based on the effective delay of the effective TPC command.

Performing a UE-triggered lower layer-based handover may include performing measurements of source gNB CSI-RS samples associated with a source gNB. Measurements of target gNB CSI-RS samples associated with a target gNB may be performed, wherein the CSI-RS samples associated with the source gNB and the CSI-RS samples associated with the target gNB are transmitted in a burst structure. A subset of the source gNB CSI-RS samples and the target gNB CSI-RS samples may be filtered using a layer 1 or a layer 2 filter. A filtered result for each of the subset of source gNB CSI-RS samples and the subset of target gNB CSI-RS samples may be generated. Based on the generated filtered result for each of the subset of source gNB CSI-RS samples and the subset of target gNB CSI-RS samples, determining whether a handover from the source gNB to the target gNB is to occur.
