A display apparatus includes: a first light emitting device arranged in the first display area; a first pixel circuit electrically connected to the first light emitting device; a second light emitting device arranged in the second display area; a second pixel circuit arranged in the peripheral area and electrically connected to the second light emitting device; an organic insulating layer arranged between the second light emitting device and the second pixel circuit; a connection line which electrically connects the second light emitting device and the second pixel circuit to each other and at least a portion of which is arranged in the second display area; and a phase compensation layer arranged in the second display area to overlap the connection line in a plan view, wherein a refractive index of the phase compensation layer is lower than a refractive index of the organic insulating layer.

Display apparatus and method of manufacturing the same

A display panel includes: a display area including a main display area, and a component area; a peripheral area; a plurality of main pixel circuits at the main display area; a plurality of main gate lines extending in a first direction, and connected to the main pixel circuits; a plurality of main data lines extending in a second direction, and connected to the main pixel circuits; a plurality of auxiliary display elements at the component area; a plurality of auxiliary pixel circuits at the periphery area, and connected to the auxiliary display elements; a plurality of auxiliary gate lines connected to the auxiliary pixel circuits, and to main gate lines that are adjacent to the component area in the first direction; and a plurality of auxiliary data lines connected to the auxiliary pixel circuits, and to main data lines that are adjacent to the component area in the second direction.

Display panel and display apparatus including the same

A display panel includes: a substrate including a main display area, a component area, and a peripheral area; an auxiliary display element in the component area; an auxiliary pixel circuit in the peripheral area and comprising an auxiliary thin-film transistor and an auxiliary storage capacitor; a transparent connection line connecting the auxiliary display element to the auxiliary pixel circuit; and a first organic insulating layer and a second organic insulating layer that are stacked between the substrate and the auxiliary display element in the component area, wherein the first organic insulating layer is between the transparent connection line and the auxiliary display element, and a refractive index of the first organic insulating layer is between a refractive index of the transparent connection line and a refractive index of the second organic insulating layer.

The auxiliary display element includes an auxiliary pixel electrode that is at least partially round. A display panel includes: a substrate including a main display area, a component area, and a peripheral area; a main sub-pixel at the main display area on the substrate; a main pixel circuit connected to the main sub-pixel, and including a main storage capacitor; an auxiliary sub-pixel at the component area on the substrate; an auxiliary pixel circuit at the peripheral area on the substrate, and including an auxiliary storage capacitor; and a connecting line connecting the auxiliary sub-pixel to the auxiliary pixel circuit. A capacity of the auxiliary storage capacitor is greater than a capacity of the main storage capacitor.

A display apparatus including a main display area, a component area, and a peripheral area includes: a main sub-pixel including a main display element on a substrate to correspond to the main display area, an auxiliary sub-pixel including an auxiliary display element on the substrate to correspond to the component area, wherein the main display area and the component area have a first boundary portion, a second boundary portion, and a third boundary portion as boundary portions where at least three edges of each of the main display area and the component area are in contact with each other, and a main sub-pixel arranged at an innermost portion of the main display area and an auxiliary sub-pixel arranged at an outermost portion of the component area have a mutually identical arrangement to correspond to each of the first boundary portion, the second boundary portion, and the third boundary portion.

Display apparatus with improved quality of an image output

A display apparatus includes: a substrate including a main display area, a component area, and a peripheral area; a first insulating layer disposed over the substrate; a second insulating layer disposed over the first insulating layer and including an opening exposing at least a portion of the first insulating layer; an auxiliary subpixel disposed over the component area; an auxiliary pixel circuit disposed over the peripheral area and including an auxiliary thin film transistor and an auxiliary storage capacitor; and a transparent connection line connecting the auxiliary subpixel to the auxiliary pixel circuit and at least partially disposed over the component area.

A display apparatus includes: a first display area; a second display area including a transmissive area; a substrate; a plurality of first light-emitting elements over the substrate at the first display area; a plurality of second light-emitting elements over the substrate at the second display area; an optical functional layer on the plurality of first light-emitting elements, and including a hole corresponding to the second display area; a metal layer on the plurality of second light-emitting elements, and including a through portion corresponding to the transmissive area of the second display area; and a capping layer between the metal layer and the plurality of second light-emitting elements.

Display apparatus and electronic apparatus including the same
