An inductive module with a miniaturized metamaterial structure includes an insulating substrate, two coil units, and a magnetic unit. The insulating substrate has opposing first and second surfaces and a through hole extending between the first and second surfaces. The coil units are respectively disposed on the first surface and the second surface of the insulating substrate, and are electrically connected to each other through the through hole. Each of the coil units includes a closed loop coil. The magnetic unit corresponds in position to a portion of the coil unit, surrounds said portion of the coil unit, and has an opening.

Inductive module and device

A method for assisting a driver to drive a vehicle in a safer manner includes capturing images of road in front of the vehicle, and identifying a traffic sign in the images. A first image frame is captured at a first time and a second image frame is captured at a later second time when the images do comprise the traffic sign. A change in size or other apparent change of the traffic sign from the first image frame to the second image frame is determined, and conformity or non-conformity with a predetermined rule is then determined. The traffic sign can be analyzed and recognized to trigger the vehicle to perform an action accordingly when conformity is found. A device providing assistance with driving is also provided.

Method for driving assistance and mobile device using the method

A flexible thin film metal oxide electrode fabrication methods and devices are provided and illustrated with thin film polyimide electrode formation and IrOx chemical bath deposition. Growth factors of the deposited film such as film thickness, deposition rate and quality of crystallites can be controlled by varying the solution pH, temperature and component concentrations of the bath. The methods allow for selective deposition of IrOx on a flexible substrate (e.g. polyimide electrode) where the IrOx will only coat onto an exposed metal area but not the entire device surface. This feature enables the bath process to coat the IrOx onto every individual electrode in one batch, and to ensure electrical isolation between channels. The ability to perform selective deposition, pads for external connections will not have IrOx coverage that would otherwise interfere with a soldering/bumping process.

Selective chemical bath deposition of iridium oxide on thin film flexible substrates

A wireless power system receives an input voltage signal from a first node of a secondary side coil, comprises an active rectifier, a buck converter, and a linear charger comprising a first resistor, a second resistor, a third resistor, a mode switching circuit, a current mirror circuit. The active rectifier rectifies the input voltage signal to generate a rectified voltage signal. The first resistor couples between a first node point and second node point. The second resistor couples between the second node point and ground terminal. The third resistor couples between a third node point and ground terminal. The current mirror circuit outputs a reference current and charge current according to the rectified voltage signal and mode switching signal generated by the mode switching circuit. The buck converter outputs a first output voltage signal or second output voltage signal according to a first node point voltage.

Wireless power system

A wireless charging device includes a wireless charging transmitter transmitting a charging signal to a signal gain module to generate at least one gain signal. The signal gain module includes an insulation substrate with an upper surface thereof provided with a first conductive wire. The first conductive wire makes at least one turns arranged along the inner edge of the insulation substrate. The lower surface of the insulation substrate is provided with a second conductive wire whose position corresponds to the position of the first conductive wire. A connecting element is arranged between the first conductive wire and the second conductive wire, such that the first conductive wire is electrically connected to the second conductive wire through the connecting element. The present invention provides a charging signal with high intensity to avoid the low charging efficiency caused by deflection and too long a distance.

Wireless charging device

A cochlear implant device comprises a receiver, a processing device, a first electrode and a second electrode. The receiver is configured to receive outside voice signal. The processing device is coupled to the receiver, configured to receive and transfer the voice signal to an electrical stimulation signal. The first electrode connects to the processing device, disposed on stapes footplate ligament or oval window. The second electrode connects to the processing device, disposed on round window. Wherein the electrical stimulation signal is applied to stapes footplate ligament, oval window or round window to stimulate acoustic nerve through the first electrode or the second electrode.

Cochlear implant device and stimulating method thereof

A biomedical stimulation protection device includes a current source, a first upper P-channel metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (PMOSFET), a first adaptive bias circuit, and six first stimulating metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs). The first adaptive bias circuit receives a power voltage (VDD), a double power voltage (2VDD), and a triple power voltage (3VDD). The first upper MOSFET and the first stimulating MOSFETs are electrically cascoded with each other. The first adaptive bias circuit turns on at least one of the first stimulating MOSFETs according to VDD, 2VDD, and 3VDD, so as to stimulate a physiological tissue and control a voltage difference between two terminals of each of the first upper MOSFET and the first stimulating MOSFETs to be lower than or equal to VDD.

Biomedical stimulation protection device

A nerve impulse signal stimulation device and a method for fabricating the same are provided. The nerve impulse signal stimulation device includes: a substrate having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface; a first metal layer formed on the first surface of the substrate; a second metal layer formed on the first metal layer; a plurality of openings exposing a portion of the first surface of the substrate, a portion of the first metal layer and a portion of the second metal layer; and a ferromagnetic material attached to the second surface of the substrate. The openings cause the nerve impulse signal stimulation device to obtain a parallel circuit structure, thereby increasing the current load and the magnetic field intensity, reducing the size of the device, and ensuring the safety of operations.

Nerve impulse signal stimulation device and method for fabricating the same

A front-end amplifier circuit for receiving a biological signal includes a signal channel. The signal channel amplifies the biological signal to generate a detection current and includes a capacitive-coupled transconductance amplifier. The capacitive-coupled transconductance amplifier amplifies the biological signal with a transconductance gain to generate a first current.

Front-end amplifier circuits for biomedical electronics

An implantable wireless device for transmitting data includes an external control device and an internal processing device. The external control device receives digital data and an alternating current carrier signal and uses the alternating current carrier signal to modulate the digital data into a phase shift keying modulation signal. The digital data have a plurality of time points that binary data change. The internal processing device includes a phase-lock loop (PLL)-based phase shift keying demodulator. The PLL-based phase shift keying demodulator obtains a ripple voltage signal according to the phase shift keying modulation signal. The ripple voltage signal decreases from a fixed voltage value at each of the plurality of time points and then increases to the fixed voltage value. The PLL-based phase shift keying demodulator demodulates the ripple voltage signal into the digital data.

Implantable wireless device for transmitting data

An artificial retinal prosthesis system comprises an extraocular optical device and an intraocular retina chip. The extraocular optical device receives an external image, converts it into an optical pulse signal, and generates light energy. The intraocular retina chip receives the optical pulse signal from the extraocular optical device and produces an electric simulation signal. The intraocular retina chip includes a solar cell module receiving and converting the light energy into electric energy as a power source of the intraocular retina chip. The artificial retinal prosthesis system uses an optical modulation method to convert an image signal into an optical pulse signal, transmits the optical pulse signal into the eyeball, and decodes the optical pulse signal intraocularly. Thereby, the signal light intensity is improved without affect the contrast ratio.

Artificial retinal prosthesis system, optical device and retina chip

An analysis process device processing a first physiological signal to generate an analysis result and including a sensing unit, a separation unit, a comparing unit, and a reconstruction unit is provided. The sensing unit detects the first physiological signal to generate a sensing signal. The separation unit separates the sensing signal to generate a plurality of intrinsic characteristic signals. The comparing unit compares each of the intrinsic characteristic signals with a reference signal and generates a plurality of comparing results. The reconstruction unit divides the intrinsic characteristic signals into a first group and a second group according to the comparing results and generates the analysis result according to the intrinsic characteristic signals of the first group.

Analysis process device

A frequency synthesizer with microcode control that allows one or more programmable circuits of a frequency synthesizer system to be programmed using a plurality of microcode instructions. A method includes, setting a frequency synthesizer system to operate in a microcode mode, programming the frequency synthesizer system for microcode execution of a plurality of microcode instructions and executing the plurality of microcode instructions at the frequency synthesizer system to control one or more behaviors of one or more programmable circuits of the frequency synthesizer system.

A driving circuit comprising a control unit, a current control unit, a pulse width modulation control unit and a current driving unit is described. The control unit provides a first control signal and a second control signal. The current control unit is connected to the control unit, and converts a reference current into a plurality of current setting signals based on a data signal and the first control signal. The pulse width modulation control unit is connected to the control unit and outputs a pulse signal based on the data signal and the second control signal. The current driving unit is connected to the pulse width modulation control unit and drives the light emitting diode based on a driving current, wherein the control unit generates a continuous conduction time in a predetermined operation period based on the pulse signal and the current setting signals.

Driving circuit and its method of light emitting diode

A dual positive-feedbacks voltage controlled oscillator includes an oscillation circuit and a cross coupled pair circuit. The oscillation circuit includes a first transistor, a second transistor, an inductor and a plurality of capacitors. The gates of the first and second transistors are opposite to each other and coupled to two points of the inductor. The inductor and the capacitors are formed as a LC tank. The cross coupled pair circuit includes a third transistor and a fourth transistor. The gates of the third and fourth transistors are cross coupled to two points of the inductor. Thereby, the gate of the third transistor is coupled to the gate of the second transistor; the gate of the fourth transistor is coupled to the gate of the first transistor; the drain of the third transistor is coupled to the source of the first transistor; and the drain of the fourth transistor is coupled to the source of the second transistor.
