A data backup method for a flash memory module is provided. The flash memory module includes a plurality of flash memory units. In the data backup method, a controller is first provided to receive a backup function enabling signal. The controller then configures the flash memory units according to the backup function enabling signal such that at least one of the flash memory units is configured as a backup storage area and the flash memory units that are not in the backup storage area are configured as a main storage area. The controller then checks and receives an updated status of important data in the main storage area and backs up the important data into the backup storage area according to the updated status. Accessing to the backup storage area and accessing to the main storage area by the controller are independent.

Data backup method for flash memory module and solid state drive

A display system utilizes a tilting sensor in a viewing device to transmit a wireless signal containing tilting information to a display device when a person who puts on the viewing device has tilting movements about an axis that connects between the viewing device and the display device. The display device adjusts a multimedia content displayed on a panel according to the tilting information by physically rotating the panel about the same axis or rotating the multimedia content about the same axis before the content is displayed on the panel to synchronize with the tilting angle of the viewing device.

A first electronic device includes an electromagnetic component embedded in its connecting port and controlled to be activated during data transmission between the first electronic device and a second electronic device to which the first electronic device is connecting, or during memory accessing of the first electronic device. As the electromagnetic component is activated, an attraction force exists between the two connecting ports of the first and the second electronic devices such that a user of the first electronic device will feel a resistance when he/she tries to disconnect the first electronic device from the second electronic device.

An image display device includes a display unit, a storage unit, a voice receiving unit and a processing unit. The storage unit stores a plurality of image data, a plurality of voice data and a plurality of image files, wherein each of the image data is corresponding to one of the voice data respectively. The voice receiving unit receives a current voice. The processing unit judges whether the current voice is similar to one of the voice data, so as to determine one image data corresponding to the current voice. When the current voice is similar to one of the voice data, the processing unit determines whether each of the image files contains the image data corresponding to the current voice and then displays the image file(s), which contain the image data corresponding to the current voice, on the display unit.

Device and method for selective image display in response to detected voice characteristics

In order to correct errors of a first page on one plane in a two-plane NAND flash memory, use data of a second page on another plane to mix the encoding and leverage the error correction code of the first page. Each of the error correction codes of the first page and the second page is divided into an inner correction code and a cross correction code. The inner correction codes are used to correct errors of their own pages and the cross correction codes are used to correct errors of two distinct groups, grouped from the even and odd bytes of the two pages respectively. The second page, with fewer errors, is therefore used to enhance the correcting ability of the first page, without lengthening the error correction code of the first page.

Two-plane error correction method for a memory device and the memory device thereof

A connector module is disclosed in the present invention. The connector module includes a housing, a substrate whereon a first set and a second set of metal contacts are formed, and at least one conductive resilient piece piercing through the housing. The substrate is disposed inside the housing with the first set of metal contacts exposed outwardly. A first end of the conductive resilient piece is fixed on an outer surface of the housing, and the conductive resilient piece is resiliently deformed and electrically contacts the second set of metal contacts when the conductive resilient piece is pressed by a conductive component of an connector receptacle.

A storage device includes a control unit, a first voltage supply unit for supplying a first working voltage to the control unit, N memory units, a second voltage supply unit for supplying a second working voltage to each memory unit, a logic gate, a first voltage detecting unit and a second voltage detecting unit. Once the first voltage detecting unit detects that the first working voltage of the control unit is abnormal, the logic gate outputs a first write protect signal to notify the control unit and control the memory units to enter a write protect mode. Once the second voltage detecting unit detects that the second working voltage of one or more memory units is abnormal, the logic gate outputs a second write protect signal to notify the control unit and control the one or more memory units to enter the write protect mode.

Storage device and method for operating the same

An EMI/ESD protection module is disposed between a first metal connecting member and a second metal connecting member. The EMI/ESD protection module includes a first conductive member, a second conductive member and a resilient member. The first conductive member is electrically connected to the first metal connecting member. The second conductive member is movably connected to the first conductive member and electrically connected to the second metal connecting member. The resilient member is disposed between the first and second conductive members.

A reciprocating plug detector is configured at the connector of a portable device and is pushed to generate a control signal when the portable device is plugged into a host system. A controller of the portable device then performs a command when receiving the control signal. When the portable device is unplugged from the host system, the reciprocating plug detector may also be used for generating the control signal and before the portable device totally leaves the host system, the controller performs other pre-defined command during these few milliseconds. The portable device is implemented with a variety of computer controllability and provided with power-failure protection for data.

A USB storage device includes a casing, a USB module and a protecting cover. The USB module is disposed in the casing and comprises a plurality of protruding pins. Each of the protruding pins has a first height. The protecting cover is connected to the casing and selectively covers the USB module. The protecting cover has a surface and an accommodating space formed on the surface. When the protecting cover completely covers the USB module, the protruding pins are accommodated in the accommodating space. A second height is defined between a bottom of the accommodating space and the surface. The second height is larger than the first height of the protruding pin.
