An image processing method includes: downsizing a current frame and a reference frame; dividing the down-sized current frame and the down-sized reference frame into multiple first current blocks and multiple first reference blocks, respectively; performing a first motion estimation to the first current blocks and the first reference blocks to generate multiple first motion vectors; dividing the current picture and the reference picture into multiple second current blocks and multiple second reference blocks, respectively; performing a second motion estimation to the second current blocks and the second reference blocks to generate multiple second motion vectors; and generating a compensated frame between the current frame and the reference frame according to the second motion vectors. The second motion estimation includes: performing a 3D recursive search for each second current block; and adjusting multiple estimation parameters in the 3D recursive search according to the first motion vector.

Image processing method and image processing device

An image processing method includes: receiving first and second frames; generating multiple motion vectors based on the first and second frames, wherein one of the motion vectors corresponds to a first block of the first frame and a second block of the second frame; calculating a to-be-compensated position of a compensated block, a first motion vector between the compensated block and the first block, and a second motion vector between the compensated block and the second block; determining whether a sum of the to-be-compensated position, a compensation value, and the first motion vector or the second motion vector exceeds a target range in order to set a blending coefficient; modifying first data of the first block or second data of the second block based on the blending coefficient; and generating interpolated data based on the modified first data or the modified second data.

Image processing method

A device and method using an overdrive function to do smoothing processing of video data including a frame sequence AABB or AABBB is disclosed in the present invention. The device includes a video information generator and an over drive circuit. The video information generator detects a plurality of continuous frames wherein the continuous frames include a current frame and a previous frame. When a second value of the current frame is different from a first value of the previous frame having the same position as that of the second value, the video information generator generates first video information; When the second value of the current frame is the same as the first value of the previous frame having the same position as that of the second value, the video information generator generates second video information. The over drive circuit generates a first target value which is a value between the first value and the second value according to the first video information, and uses the first target value to replace the second value of the current frame; or the overdrive circuit generates a second target value according to the second video information, and uses the second target value to replace the second value of the current frame.

Device and method for using an overdrive function to do motion smoothing

This invention provides an image processing apparatus and an image processing method. By calculation of the pixel difference that is the difference of each corresponding pixels between the current image and the previous image with its neighbor pixel difference, this invention can determine the blending value. Furthermore, the image processing apparatus comprises a pixel buffer unit for storing the current image and the previous image; a pixel difference calculating unit for calculating a plurality of pixel differences; a moving judgment unit, coupled to the pixel difference calculating unit, for determining the pixel moving or static according to by the plurality of pixel differences; a blending value determining unit, coupled to the moving judgment unit, for determining a new blending value when the pixel is static; and an output unit, coupled to the blending value determining unit, for generating an output image by adding the pixels belonging to the same positions pixels on the current image and the previous image with a weighting according to the blending value.
