A communication device includes a main circuit board, a cable, and an active antenna device. The cable is configured to deliver both a DC (Direct Current) control signal and an RF (Radio Frequency) signal. The active antenna device includes a comparator, a transmission path, a reception path, and an antenna element. The comparator recovers the DC control signal. The antenna element selects the transmission path or the reception path according to the recovered DC control signal, so as to transmit or receive the RF signal.

Communication device

A reader is provided, including a power amplifier (PA), a low-noise amplifier (LNA), a circulator, an auto-tuning matching network, and a control circuit. The PA emits a first RF transmission signal. The LNA transmits a first RF induced signal corresponding to the first RF transmission signal. The circulator is coupled between the PA and LNA, transmits the first RF transmission signal to an RF connection terminal or receives the first RF induced signal from the RF connection terminal. The auto-tuning matching network is coupled to the circulator, matches impedances between the circulator and the RF connection terminal. The control circuit is coupled to the auto-tuning matching network, adjusts the auto-tuning matching network to match impedances between the circulator and the RF connection terminal.

Reader and RFID reader

A radio-frequency identification reader device including a plurality of antennas, a switch module, a coaxial cable, and a reader is provided. The switch module is electrically connected to the antennas. The coaxial cable is electrically connected to the switch module. The reader transmits a DC voltage, a control signal, and a radio-frequency signal to the switch module through the coaxial cable. The switch module generates an operation voltage by the DC voltage and the control signal. The switch module selects one of the antennas as a preset antenna by the control signal and drives the preset antenna by the radio-frequency signal.
