The present application provides a positive electrode material and a lithium-ion battery. The positive electrode material comprises a lithium composite oxide comprising lithium and at least one selected from a group of cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), and a compound on the surface thereof comprising strontium (Sr) and at least one selected from a group of silicon (Si), titanium (Ti). By using above positive electrode material, the increased DC resistance during the circulation of the lithium-ion battery is greatly reduced.

Positive electrode material and lithium-ion battery

The examples of the present application provide a positive electrode material and a lithium ion battery. The positive electrode material comprises: a substrate material; and a coating material formed on at least one portion of the surface of the substrate material; the general formula of the substrate material being LiCoMOor LiNiCoNO, wherein 0&#x2264;x&#x3c;0.1, 0&#x2264;y&#x3c;0.1 and M is at least one of selected from the group of Mn, Ni, Al, Mg, Ti, Zr, Y, P, Cr; &#x2153;&#x2264;a&#x2264;0.82, 0.1&#x2264;b&#x2264;&#x2153;, 0.6&#x2264;a+b, N is at least one of selected from the group of Mn, Al, Mg, Ti, Zr, La, Ce, Y; the coating material includes CeZrO, wherein 0&#x2264;z&#x3c;0.1. By using a positive electrode material coated with CeZrO, the direct current (DC) resistance of the lithium ion battery is greatly reduced.
